A handcrafted walnut, cherry, and maple cutting board with a refined checkerboard pattern of alternating dark walnut and warm cherry squares framed by pale maple. The surface is smooth with a low‑sheen, food‑safe finish that highlights the grain contrast. A recessed juice groove runs around the perimeter to catch liquids, and the board’s edges are slightly rounded for comfortable handling. The overall look is both functional and decorative—equally at home as a prep surface or a tabletop serving piece.

This handcrafted bandsaw box is shaped with smooth, flowing contours that show off the natural beauty of ambrosia maple and walnut. The body is carved from striking ambrosia maple, featuring its signature streaks and character marks that make every piece truly one‑of‑a‑kind. The drawer fronts and pulls are crafted from rich walnut, adding warmth, contrast, and a refined sense of depth.
Each drawer glides out cleanly, revealing a functional storage space perfect for jewelry, keepsakes, or small everyday items. The entire piece is sanded silky‑smooth and finished to enhance the grain while protecting the wood for years of use.
This box blends artistry and utility — a sculptural piece that feels as good in the hand as it looks on display. A standout example of the craftsmanship at Tom’s Wood Crafts.

Its walnut frame, clean lines, and translucent shoji panels create a warm, diffused light that feels both traditional and modern.
