Hope you’re not afraid of spiders! This little guy is quite rare according to Frank. 40 years in the business and only the third he’s seen. At $175 this 14k gold and butterscotch amber spider pin from Russia is quite a find.

Sometimes I’ll just ask about pieces that catch my eye. I liked how this pendant was somewhat simple but the organic differences in the seed pearls give it character it would have lacked had they been perfectly uniform. The detailing in the gold is brilliant. Art Nouveau Amethyst and baroque pearl pendant on 18” gold chain. $695.00

This English 15k amethyst pin/pendant is really special. Frank says the stone is approximately 10 carats, give or take a little. The way it catches the light is superb and any piece stamped 15k like this one is likely quite old since after 1932 14k became the standard in Great Britain and the British Isles. Did you know the term “estate” jewelry simply means it once belonged to someone else? I’ve been posting a lot of other things that Frank has for sale — and there is plenty to see — but it’s nice to get back to the sparkle. Frank has a lot of estate jewelry for sale. In the downstairs cases at Waverly Square Antiques you can tell his case apart from the others as it has the pink boxes for the rings. With that and the rest of his cases upstairs it’s plenty to choose from. My personal favorite in this video is the platinum sapphire and diamond ring at the end. Frank designed this one personally and said it’s strong enough to dig a trench with it. Ironically this was the perfect sales pitch for me, a woman who rarely removes her engagement ring while gardening.
