Welcome aboard new followers! Don't worry, no big long list of tags...just a welcome and a thought...It's been a minute since we all talked about what I can do for you and why I do it. Let's start with the why...

12.1 million tons of furniture waste (wifitalents.com) in the United States alone.

WHY IS THERE SO MUCH FURNITURE WASTE? Like fast fashion, fast furniture is a problem. It's made with sub-par materials and doesn't last. But it costs you, the consumer, just as much as a long lasting, quality piece. But wait...that doesn't sound right, you say, there is inexpensive furniture out there. Yes, but how many times are you replacing it after the cushions wear down, or you cleaned a mess on it, finish came off and you decide, ahh just chuck it and buy a new one???

Also, everyone else has the same piece of square, design-less furniture.

Or...maybe you inherited something that is fantastic quality, but doesn't fit your style. Where does it go? The basement? Donation? The curb? The DUMP. Who really thinks, hey let's get this repaired, or changed to suit me? It might be a passing thought and then ends up in the dump with the furniture. Why? Maybe you don't want to get all dusty sanding. Maybe you just don't have the tools. Maybe you don't have the time or space. Or, you don't know who to call.

Now you do! A builder of furniture I am not, but I am a great admirer of the ingenuity and beauty of old furniture. It's real wood. It's creative. It solves problems and makes life easier. It is often unique. And if you've stuck with me this far, very often less expensive than buying new of the same quality.

Anyone interested in a barter for a "piece of 💩" dresser that I "never should have touched" because I "just ruin all the furniture by slapping 💩 paint on?" Yup. Actual things people have messaged me over the last couple months.

🤣🤣 Some people really need to find hobbies to get their anger out. I suggested they take a walk. Outside. Not just from the computer to the bathroom.🤣🤣

Anyhoo...serious about the barter. The dresser is listed at $300 right now (deets in the pics); I'm willing to barter for things of equal value, or cash/barter for things of less value. Listed below are some things I'm looking for:

*Brother XR9550 Sewing/Quilting Machine (or WORKING, WELL MAINTAINED equivalent)
*Weston #12 Meat Grinder/Sausage Stuffer (or equivalent)
*7.5" Electric Meat Slicer
*Local farm beef/pork/csa portion
*Kitchenaid Pasta Press

Hey friends and followers! I've got a humongous favor to ask, and I'm counting on one of you superheroes to save the day. I've got a piece of property in the Norwich/Franklin area that's crying out for a retaining wall. We're talking 10 to 20 feet high and ridiculously long. The problem is, those pesky trees need to come down because they're huge and dying, but once they're gone, the hill is going to start moving like a restless sleeper, and I'm going to need someone to stabilize it pronto.

I'm looking for a licensed, insured, and experienced pro to work their magic. Obviously, we're not doing anything until the snow melts and those trees are cleared, but I need a plan in place ASAP.

As we move into the new year, I wanted to say thank you to all of the clients, new and old, who trusted me to make their furniture dreams come true, to all the wonderful people who supported me at shows, and to all of you here on the socials that liked, shared, and generally tolerated me tagging in every post (warning: it will continue 😂😂).

What on earth is going on here? Three no shows on these incredible, one-of-a-kind furniture pieces is just ridiculous, especially from sale weekend!

So here's the plan...

I'm extending sale prices till December 31 at 11:59pm, you can check out the prices in the pics. Plus, the buyer who shows up for an appointment (and purchases a piece of furniture) will get two freebies from my craft show inventory.

I get asked all the time if I make everything I sell. Yes. Yes I do, and I have the belt sander manicure to prove it 😂 Everything I make starts out as a 3"x3"x12" block of really hard wood, from concept, to hand made patterns, through various saws, drills, sanders, and sealants, to the products I bring to you. No stains, no dyes, no chemical sealants; just me, some small tools and some sustainably harvested exotic woods.
