Our BSO family is sad to share the news of our longtime friend Sandy Feldman’s passing. Sandy was a model of the dozens of volunteers, primarily women, who gave tirelessly of themselves and supported the educational activities of the BSO for decades, serving as ushers at youth concerts and every year hosting a decorator’s show house. She and her husband Maurice were advocates of our BSO musicians and she will be greatly missed by our family.

We’re so proud of our colleague Matt Barker!

This Veterans Day, we wanted to share a unique way one of our own Baltimore Symphony Musicians honors those who served. 🎺

Several times a month, trumpet player Matt Barker performs Taps at the National WWI Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Located steps from the National Mall, the memorial honors the 4.7 million Americans who served in the Great War.

Every day at 5 PM sharp, rain or shine, the Doughboy Foundation sponsors a bugler, oftentimes Matt, to perform Taps as a tribute to all of our veterans.
