Today marks my 44th trip around the sun, and I’m grateful for so many things. I recently read somewhere that 44 is a year for leveraging experience. I’m still processing what that means, but I’ve decided to honor it here by answering a few questions about myself and this company I started 9 years ago.

1. What’s your favorite thing to design? Colorful spaces.

Whether it’s a well-branded cafe or a home with plenty of character, collections, and quirks; I love to create spaces with unexected color combinations that keep your eyes traveling about for the next interesting element.

2. Why design and not decor? I’m following my passion.

I used to be a decorator. I furnished homes, selected art, and worked to make homes felt likethey were curated by the clients. In that time I learned that while it’s a valuable step in the process, decorating doesn’t bring me the same joy as designing a new addition, or learning about a family’s routine in order to make their entire home function intuitively.

3. What does Reidy Creative do best? Create spaces inspired by your brand.

Every great business has a brand, and that brand speaks a language. My strength is knowing how to combine the right colors, materials, lighting, furniture, and architectural interior forms to make your space and your brand speak the same language.

4. Who are your favorite clients? Those who value details.

There’s nothing as exciting to design for a project as HANDmade architectural details. Working with clients who value those details brings so much joy into our process. It means I can collaborate with skilled creatives to design custom millwork, find perfect tile combinations, customize metal finishes, and elevate everything else that makes a project unique.

5. When should you hire a designer? As soon as possible.

Great designers ask the best questions. We are are passionate about your project as you are, and will tell you when your idea could use some tweaking. Working with a designer to hone your conceptual design is the best way to convey to other team members what your goals are in the space, and to make sure that the vison is followed throughout the project.

Excited to announce I’ll be on a panel next week with at discussing collaborative design. I had the pleasure of working with Annie on a project for in their Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit. Annie’s work was also featured in my retired magazine . I can’t wait to chat with Annie and the other panelists about what goes into making great collaborative work here in Baltimore and beyond. Registration is free through Pratt library and at the link in my bio.

We finished this gem on Harford Road at the end of 2025 with an awesome signage work from and . It was one of our favorites from the Main Street In Color project, but getting a photo of the building has proved challenging. Royalty Foods is truly one of the busiest businesses in Hamilton-Lauraville. From the time they open in the morning until late at night, there are always cars out front, and there are always plenty of boxes outside leading up to recycling day since they keep their shelves well stocked. We’re glad to have given a building so close to home the facelift they deserved.

We couldn’t create a Chesapeake Tile collection without an homage to our beloved Baltimore. This color palette is all about retro vibes, city life, and having a good time. The colors are deep and soulful. The large pattern is graphic and bold while giving an historic feel. The large veined hex is vintage-modern. It’s giving playfulness that’s proud, grounded, and a little sophisticated just like our city.

One of our favorite palettes in this collection began with herons. Perhaps my favorite of the Chesapeake birds, herons are graceful and strong. Their colors surprise me, and I am always excited to catch a glimpse of one. The first time I saw a heron I was collecting sea glass at the beach. This palette speaks to that moment. A mixture of matte and glossy pastels play off of reflective colors, and a blue cement tile embedded with mother of pearl masquerades as delicate patterned terrazzo. The herons create their own pattern, used as an accent or for a whole wall, their iridescent wings blend perfectly with the rest of our Sea Glass grouping with Chesapeake Tile and Marble.

Have you ever had a feeling that waking up in a mountain cabin might be all you need? It’s a frequent daydream we have, and an ever-growing board. Our dream of a modern Western Maryland cabin includes heated large format tile floors, deep greens teals, and aubergines, a cool parquet backsplash, and some very fun mosaics. We kept this palette with Chesapeake Tile and Marble full of the bold muted tones and a depth of color that continues to fuel our cabin daydreams.
