The month of October is a month of awareness for alot of things..but one that affects us is: ADHD Awareness.
Most of you know this is my son Bean, he was diagnosed with ADHD when he was around 4 yrs old. ADHD is A chronic condition including attention difficulty, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness.
That's the definition of you look it up, for us ADHD is Bean going into another room to get something but then becoming distracted by something as small as a fly! It's also having no impulse control, for example a few weeks ago he ran out into the street because he was so excited to see me picking him up from school, and he wasn't aware of the cars that could have hurt him ( almost gave me and his poor teacher a heart attack!)
Alot of kids with ADHD get labeled as "bad" , "weird" or too much...but that's because people don't understand. It took me a minute to want to live with his diagnosis, I thought I did something to him, or I wasn't a good enough parent...but sometimes it just happens..and while I do not know everything about ADHD I'm learning and more open to treatments and becoming more knowledgeable about it. Y'all know I'll do anything for my Bean!
Anyway I just wanted to share a little bit about ADHD and our journey with it!
