We had such an amazing opening night for our map quilt and we are forever grateful to for giving us the opportunity for our work to be shown.

Elysha, Erin and I collaborated on our map Quilt starting in 2024 and it was such a surreal feeling watching people get to experience and understand the data behind our quilts. It truly felt like a full circle moment for us. I think when working on social activism projects, especially for us we really just wanted our work to be seen and it felt so fulfilling to finally be able to experience that.

📍If you’re in the Fort Wayne area, our quilts will continue to be on display until February 20th. Please stop by and check them out.

The one thing I really want to say about our work and our experience this weekend is finding your community is so important.

Be loud about what you care about. Allow people to see what’s important to you. Showing up exactly as who you are has never been more important. Also f**k ice. 💛✨

I’m almost casting off my Sophie Shawl so I wanted to share some in progress photos. 🩷✨

I decided to start learning how to knit (aka may have been gently convinced by Erin 🤪) and HOLY HELL it’s so hard! I’m so determined to continuing learning and hopefully making less mistakes as I keep moving forward with it!

I’ve really been struggling to find my creativity and desire to make pretty things so I am changing it up for a bit and focusing on learning how to knit while my sewing machines collect dust. 🙂

Now onto to the details of my first knitting project! This is called the Sophie Shawl designed by . The yarn I used is the color Beach Party in a Mohair by (very, very much in love with all of their yarn colors) and Skyland in the color Solstice by for the ultimate soft shawl. It’s dropping into single digits this week and into the negatives by the weekend so I desperately need to finish it!

I’ve made a ton of mistakes on this project but I honestly am still so proud of it and I’m ecstatic to have a finished project soon! I will probably be wearing this for the foreseeable future. I did genuinely really enjoy this pattern and I love the icord edging. I’ve learned so much from this make and can’t wait to dive into what’s next! I hope y’all will stick around for this new journey with me! 🫶✨

✨ ANNOUNCEMENT ✨

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided that I’ll be closing my website at the end of 2025.

I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am for every single person who has supported me. Whether you bought stickers, quilt patterns, or merch, shared my work, or sent kind words my way. Writing patterns and running this little corner of the internet has been such a blast, and it truly means the world to me.

Over the past year, though, I’ve been struggling with feeling motivated to create. I miss making things purely for the joy of it. So I’m choosing to take a step back from the business side of things and give myself space to fall back in love with sewing and quilting as a hobby again.

Thank you so much for all of your support and encouragement! It’s been everything. 💛

If you’ve been wanting to grab a quilt pattern from me, now’s the time! My shop will stay open through 2025, so feel free to snag anything you’ve had your eye on before the year wraps up. ✨🫶

Thank you! -Emily 🩷✨

I have been working on knitting the Dinka scarf by ! 🩷🧶

I am using their super bulky yarn in the color flamingo and I’m almost finished with it! I did decide to try out sl1wyif at the end of each row to give it a little bit of a clean look, and I’m really enjoying the process! I really am loving big chunky yarn and finally working with 100% wool feels so nice! 💛✨

✨🖤photo dump of life recently.

sewing has been a non-interest of mine in these last couple months. I feel like ever since we moved, I’ve had trouble getting back into the flow of sewing. So I’m trying to find enjoyment in other things. 🖤✨

✨ Baby’s first curved hem! ✨ I’ve been having such a blast making this Poppy Top from and can’t wait to show you the finished version.

But real talk - burnout has been hitting hard lately. Between moving earlier this year and stress being sky-high at my full-time job, I’ve felt like all I want to do is sleep or zone out. I’ve been reading, coloring here and there, but mostly battling guilt for not “making.” And when I did try to force it? Mistakes, frustration, rinse, repeat.

What’s been helping is letting go of the pressure and finding little joys where I can, like this project. It feels like an easy win, a soft re-entry into creating, and honestly, that feels really good.

If you’ve been in the same boat lately, just a reminder: it’s okay to rest. Creativity will still be there when you’re ready. 🩷✨

✨ Finished my Daphne Top by and I’m in love! 🩷

I cut this one using my Epson ultra short throw projector + (seriously the fastest way to get from PDF to fabric 🙌) and it made the whole process so smooth. No paper, no tracing—just straight into sewing.

The fabric is from the gorgeous new Starry collection by // , and I was lucky enough to snag it at my local shop 🌟

That said, as a bigger-chested girlie, I think the peplum top with the button-front variation of this pattern would be even more flattering on my shape so that’s definitely the version I want to try next! 👀✨

Sometimes the simplest makes are the most satisfying and this one is definitely going to be on repeat in my wardrobe. 🩷

Strawberries in the wild! 🍓🍃

We recently went on a vacation to the Smokey Mountains and had such a fun time. Our view was so amazing and I loved waking up and seeing the mountains every morning!

Soft breeze. Strawberry skies. A quilt that feels like golden hour stitched into every seam. 🍓✨

I couldn’t resist Ruby Star Society’s newest strawberry prints! Playful, bold, and a little nostalgic in the best way. I used the Madeline pattern by Penelope Handmade to create this rainbow-inspired quilt top, and quilted it with the most perfect pantograph: Strawberry Toss by OESD Longarming. Because when you’re going full fruit-girl-core, why hold back? 💫

This quilt is pure summer energy. It’s the one you reach for when you’re curling up on the porch with a glass of iced tea and a book you can’t put down. The one you drag out to the grass for a solo picnic. The one you wrap yourself in at golden hour, feeling a little bit like the main character in a story only you know the plot to. 🌿📖💛

There’s something so comforting about summer reading, how time slows down and stories feel deeper when the sun is warm on your skin.

So I want to know:

✨ What are you reading right now?
🍑 What’s been your favorite book of the summer so far?
📚 What’s a story you keep coming back to, year after year?

Drop your recs below! I’m always on the hunt for something beautiful to pair with a cozy quilt moment. 🌸🧺

STRAWBERRIES 🤝 MADELINE QUILT PATTERN

As soon as I saw Ruby Star Society was releasing more strawberries, I basically screamed and ran to my cutting table. 🍓

I knew I had to make something with this ridiculously cute fabric, and a rainbow-inspired Madeline quilt felt like the perfect match. Spoiler alert: I’m now even more obsessed.

Here are some pics I snapped while assembling the quilt top because obviously I had to document the strawberry chaos in progress!

Just a quick reality check from Miss Z**i: mistakes are part of the process!

If you’re like me, messing something up doesn’t exactly feel enlightening it’s hella frustrating. It feels like wasted time. It makes you question your skills, your timing, and whether today is even the day to be working on this at all. The temptation to walk away and come back when you’re “in a better headspace” is very real.

When that happens, I ask myself one thing: Will I be glad I stepped away, or will I wish I’d pushed through just a little longer? The answer isn’t always the same, and that’s okay.

Give yourself room to mess up. Take the break if you need it. But also give yourself a chance to stick with it and surprise yourself.

Handmade things are never meant to be perfect. That’s what makes them special. We tend to critique ourselves far harder than we ever would if we were looking at someone else’s work, or even something we’d buy from a store.

So be gentle with yourself, and be proud of what you’ve created, imperfections and all. You’re making something unique, and that’s worth celebrating every step of the way. 🩷

Weekend recap ✨🩷

Our fur babies are settling into the new house, and all they need now is a lush lawn to lounge on. The dogs and myself are impatiently waiting for our sod to arrive. 😂

Meanwhile, I'm thrilled with my recent solids haul from - they're absolute beauties. Pear Tree is the best for quick shipping! They also provide amazing customer service!

And, guess what? I finally joined the Labubu squad! They're adorable, and I'm on a mission to collect more colors. Sometimes, it's the small things that bring us the most happiness! ☀️💚
