HERE IT IS! We could NOT BE MORE EXCITED! Sept 1 is GOING TO BE EPIC! Watch out BANGOR AND PENOBSCOT PLAZA ! We have some GREAT THINGS COMING!
We have an announcement that may make you spill your coffee, drop your phone, or get a little emotional as you reflect on how far this journey has come.
Charles Darwin once said that it’s not the strongest or most intelligent species that survives, but the one most responsive to change. Change is something we have embraced wholeheartedly — staying flexible, adaptable, creative, and always ready for what’s next.
Over the years, many of you cool cats — customers we proudly call friends — have told us that we are bigger then Lincoln. Those words stayed with us. They inspired us to thoughtfully plan not only the future of our business, but the future of our lives, while remaining true to our passion, purpose, creativity, and brand. Your encouragement is appreciated.
With that being said, we are beyond excited to officially announce that Possibilities is moving to the Bangor waterfront!
Behind the scenes, we have been collaborating with the incredibly talented designer and entrepreneur Rhoda Burke, AIFD, owner of Lougee & Fredricks Florist — and we could not be more excited about what’s ahead.
Possibilities will now operate under the same roof as Lougee & Fredricks Florist in the Penobscot Plaza, next to Henry’s Bridal Boutique. The collaboration of three passionate artists and designers steering the future of one of Bangor’s oldest flower shop alongside Lincoln’s oldest gift and décor shop will create an elevated art and design experience unlike anything Bangor has seen.
Brenda Smith, founder of Possibilities, created and established the Eastern Maine Medical Center gift store. Under her management the hospital gift store became well known for its quality, selection, and beauty. When Brenda left Bangor she brought a piece of Bangor to Lincoln in 1998. For us to bring Possibilities and Brenda’s passion back to Bangor, is a full circle moment we are proud of.
For 28 years, Possibilities has weathered every storm imaginable — the mill closure, COVID, the aftermath of COVID, and the unpredictability of the 2020s. Through it all, we adapted, evolved, and continued creating. Now, we prepare for the next 28 years.
During the past two years in our transitional location, opportunities presented themselves in Portland, Down-east Maine, Hawaii full-time, and Bangor. In the end, fate — and friendship — led us exactly where we were meant to be: in a city that still feels close to home and easily accessible for our Lincoln community. We hope you’ll continue this journey with us. Don’t be strangers — visit often.
As life evolves our need to care for the young and old in our family, has moved our life to the twin city’s.
To our Lincoln community: thank you. We are endlessly grateful to have been part of your weddings, celebrations, holidays, losses, milestones, and everyday moments. The memories we have created together will stay with us for a lifetime. Your support, encouragement, and belief in us made this next chapter possible.
We will continue floral service to Lincoln for our loyal customers and holiday orders. You still call 207-794-1000, and we will be on the other end. We also are still available for all your wedding and event floral needs. Larger studio with the same service and delivery you are used to.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you.
We will remain at our Lincoln location next to Hannaford Monday through Saturday, 9 AM–5 PM, throughout the summer until August 8th.
Our grand opening at the Penobscot Plaza is scheduled for September 1st — and we cannot wait to welcome you into this next chapter of Possibilities.
