Here are 4 Stoneware pots I made today .They are made with 44 & 42 pounds of clay in two sections (24 pound lowers and 18 or 20 pound uppers ) . Tomorrow I will scratch birds fish and apple trees into the surface of these jars .AT the moment they are 27 "s and 25" tall ..They will be glazed with wood ash and Albany slip after their first firing ...

We have been glazing stoneware vases the last few days and today I set the first glaze firing .We will fire for the next 18 hours... We are always so excited when we get to the stoneware time of the year . You never know what you will get from a white hot kiln at 2350* F but it is always spectacular . Wish us luck ... Pictures of the pots on Monday or Tuesday :)

This afternoon I brought Lizzy over to our favorite Hickory Stick Bookshop in nWashington Ct ,I saw a book by Martha Stewart about flower arranging and look what I found inside ...Thank you Martha for using my pots .. The larger vase is a Tomba glaze and the smaller one is a Tamokue both made circa 2005 . I love the flowers chosen :)

Ben Wolff and I are on Cape Cod at Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill preparing for this weekends workshop ..THere are two wheels still open for this workshop so if you have the weekend free come join us ! This is the only class I teach each year and it is in a really beautiful spot . We are making salt glazed crockery Thursday and Friday for the shop in Bantam :) Here are some photos
