Excited to share this short-term rental we recently wrapped up in Massanutten! 🌲

For this cabin, we leaned into everything that makes a mountain getaway feel cozy and inviting, while bringing in mid-century modern style pieces for a fresh contrast. Warm woods, clean lines, rich textures, and playful patterns give the space a more contemporary point of view without losing any of its cabin charm.

Balance in a room doesn’t always mean symmetry. ✨

Designers also think about visual weight, or how much different elements draw your attention within a space. Size, color, pattern, texture, and shape can all influence how visually “heavy” something feels.

By balancing those elements throughout a room, we can mix different pieces and create interest while still making the overall space feel grounded and cohesive.

Tribecca Gypsum White by Rush River takes on a whole new look in this kitchen when laid in a herringbone pattern. 🤍 The subtle variation and texture of the tile paired with the movement of the pattern adds just the right amount of interest while keeping the overall look soft and timeless.

Having a design showroom filled with materials to explore gives us the opportunity to consider not only the perfect material, but all the different ways it can be used to bring a design to life.
