Wow......30 years!!! September 1st 1996 my Dad surprised my mom by buying the Antique Mall from Keith Ackerman. Back in the day when Patrick's was here a group of town guys always gossiped that we wouldn't make it 1 year. Here we are 30 years later. We have been very blessed to sustain this many years. Not many antique shops make it that long but ours is built with lots of help from family and friends. It is hard to believe that we started this journey 3 decades ago. Back then it was my dad, mom and myself. Now it's my mom, my wife, my kids and our friends. We definitely do things different now but I have always believed you have to change with the times. What was hot last year probably won't be next year so you just have to roll with it.
After 30 years of wonderful customers we are going to celebrate YOU, the heart and soul of a successful business. We will have coffee and cookies tomorrow, a few free coffee cups, free pens and you can sign up for a drawing to win a gift certificate for anything you choose. Actually, I think we will draw 3 winners each receiving a $30 gift certificate. For the youngsters that are 10 years old and younger, they can pick 3 free cars out of our $1 tubs in the front room. Those promotions will last all week long so stop in tomorrow (remember we will open a little late) or any day the rest of this week through Sunday the 6th!! We can't thank you all enough for all of the wonderful memories that we have. Who knows how many years we have left, maybe one, maybe 20. Only time will tell on how well my worn out body can take it. It's been a year with lots of sadness, in losing my 2 father in laws, scary times with my mom's emergency surgery but also joyous times in seeing her health get back to normal. None of us ever know what tomorrow brings so enjoy the good times while you have them. God bless you all!!!!
