I started this venture in 2017 while working as a freelance court reporter by day and playing around with a welder at night. In May of 2020, I retired from court reporting (a few years early) to pursue this side gig full time. I like to take rusty old neglected items, mostly old tools and farm machinery parts, and turn them into something quirky and fun.

You all have had some AMAZING guesses on what I’m making next! I’ve added some expanded metal (the mesh) to my starting parts and slowly but surely getting my pieces laid out before I start doing much welding. Do you see the beginning of a cow head?

I’m helping my husband with harvest on the farm by driving a tractor around chasing after the combine with a grain cart, so my time in the shop is limited to mornings right now.

This dirty old hat was my grandpa’s. I remember him wearing it all the time. He was a welder in the coal mines and later became a well-known woodworker in his retirement. He passed away long before I ever considered taking up welding as a hobby. His hat hangs in my shop. He would be so tickled that I have my own workshop and tinker in artistic welding.
