⚒️ A Brief Respite for the Mailler! ⚒️

The forge is still burning, but Northern Maille is taking a little time away from the market trail!

After a busy season of markets, it's time to restock the wares, craft some new treasures, and prepare for the next gathering. I'll be taking a short break from markets, but fear not, fellow travelers! Northern Maille shall return to the market trail in November! 🛡️

In the meantime, if you're looking for an adventure this weekend, make your way to Cedar Mall in Cedar Mall at Rice Lake for the Fall Craft and Vendor Market! 🍂

There are plenty of talented makers, crafters, and small businesses gathering to share their wares. Stop by, explore their booths, find yourself a treasure or two, and show these hardworking folks some support. Every purchase helps keep a small business's forge burning bright!

Speaking of supporting fellow makers, the wife and I just stocked up on goodies from Conoboy Soaps! 🧼⚔️ It's always a good feeling to support other small businesses and bring home something made with care. Be sure to keep an eye out for their wares, too!

I may be off the market trail for a spell, but there are still plenty of merchants ready to welcome you this weekend. Go forth and support your local makers!

⚒️ Another order forged ring by ring and ready to sail!

A hearty thank-you to this returning customer for placing another order with Northern Maille! This time, the order was for 50 handmade chainmail cross keychains, each crafted ring by ring and now packed up for its journey to its new home.

Every order that comes my way helps keep the forge fires burning, and having customers return for more is an honor I don't take lightly. Your support helps this small business grow stronger with every passing season!

⚔️🛡️ A Tale Worth Sharing from the Forge! 🛡️⚔️

It is an honor to have Northern Maille featured in the Rice Lake Chronotype and its fellow papers in the Wisconsin Made publication! When Ruth Erickson reached out and asked me to be part of this journey, I was humbled to say the least. To see the work of my hands and the story behind Northern Maille shared with the wider world is truly something special.

If you haven't yet claimed your copy, there should be copies available at the offices featured on the cover photo! I encourage you to pick one up, not only to read my story, but to discover all the other talented makers and craftspeople featured within its pages. There are many worthy artisans in our neck of the woods, and their stories deserve to be told!

A few extra thanks must be given to Chainmail Joe (and Courtney 🤪) and Kim's Creations08 for their contributions to the article. Your part in helping tell this tale is greatly appreciated!

A special thank you to my mother and my wife, who runs The Loopy Bear 🧸, for giving me that extra push when I needed it most. If you'd like to see some of her own creations, be sure to give her a look as well!

As the leaves fall and the markets grow quiet, it is time for this Mailler to return to the forge for a while.

I want to send a great big thank you to everyone who stopped by a Northern Maille table this spring, summer, and fall. Whether you made a purchase, placed a custom order, admired the work, shared a post, or simply stopped to talk chainmail for a while — every bit of support has helped keep the forge burning. I truly appreciate every one of you.

For the next few weeks, I’ll be stepping away from the markets to restock the shelves, finish some new creations, and hopefully put together a few things you haven’t seen before.

I’ll also be taking this time to finally get the Northern Maille website fully updated and ready to reopen. It has been waiting patiently while I’ve been busy traveling from market to market, and it’s time to give it the attention it deserves.

The markets won't be gone for long, though. I’ll be returning around Thanksgiving, with my first winter market currently scheduled for November 28th. I’ll be adding more dates as we head toward Christmas, so keep an eye out for those announcements.

And as always, if there’s something you’ve been wanting — a particular piece, a custom design, or something you’d like to see me make — send me a message. This is the perfect time to get those requests in while I’m back at the workbench.

Until the next market, may your winter be warm, your ale be plentiful, and your halls be well guarded.

⚔️ We are set up and ready for Oktoberfest! 🍻

Northern Maille is all set up in Dallas, WI and ready for the festivities. I've got the chainmail out, along with dice bags, pouches, dragons, jewelry, and plenty of other handmade treasures.

The Loopy Bear is set up here as well, with a whole variety of handmade crochet plushies!

Come enjoy the Oktoberfest festivities, grab some food, listen to the polka, check out the arts & crafts, and stop by our booths while you're here.

Please watch for signs — some roads will be closed and not for parking.
👉 Reminder: The lot by the brewery/bridge is for craft vendors only, not general parking, please do not park in this lot. The three front spots by the park are for loading and unloading, please do not park in these spots as well (they will be marked)
