A little sparkle can make such a big difference on a handmade card.
This quick clip from my weekly live shows how snowflakes and gems add just the right finishing touch. I love how small embellishments can take a card from pretty to extra special without making the project complicated.

I took a card layout from this week’s Cards & Company class and gave it a holiday makeover using the gorgeous new Whispering Woods Designer Series Paper. Add the Party Banners Dies, an embossed background, a simple “love & joy” greeting, and just a little sparkle, and you have a card that looks special without taking forever to make.

In today’s Quick Class Series #185, I’m sharing a holiday version of a card design we made in last night’s Cards & Company Zoom class.
I loved the layout so much that I adapted it with festive Designer Series Paper, embossed texture, the Party Banners dies, and a sweet “love & joy” greeting. It’s a great reminder that once you find a card layout you like, you can reuse it again and again by changing the paper, colors, and theme.

Watch the replay as I walk through the card step by step, including the layout, die-cut banner pieces, layers, texture, and finishing touches.

• Shaded Spruce Card Base—5 1/2” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”

Someone told me it was National Dog Day today, so I had to feature our beloved Jules! I'd never had a dog before, but when my youngest went off to college and I needed someone to need me, we found Jules at the shelter. She had been found in Kentucky, emaciated and having recently had puppies (we know nothing about her puppies tho). We brought her home and she has brightened every day of our lives since!
