Lars has great dedication for cooking food. Growing up with a family who loves to cook and bake, the seed was planted at a young age. He has many years of restaurant experience. For ten years he enjoyed working at Wild Rice Restaurant; and as the Chef de Cuisine for 5 of those years. He is currently Food Lab Technician at Northland College's Food Systems Center. Lars earned education from St. Paul Tech College-Culinary Arts Program and the Culinary Institute of America-California. He recently received his Master Gardener certificate from UW-Extension. Working with locally sourced ingredients is important to him and he is known for his progressive, artistic style.
Lars lives in Bayfield, Wisconsin with his wife, Grace and dog, Maya. The Chequamegon Bay Area has become their home and community; where they find adventure, inspiration and beauty everyday.
LARS LOOKS FORWARD TO COOKING WITH YOU!
Classes will take place in Lars’ Kitchen Classroom located at 85195 State Highway 13, Bayfield, WI 54814 or at the Chequamegon Food Co-op. Or you can customize your own private class in your home.
Classes will vary in time (usually 1.5 to 2.5 hours) depending on the focus. Many classes are hands-on and some are more informational/instructional. At each class you will receive a custom handout with helpful information on the particular topic. At the end of most classes (not knife skills, etc.) you will get to enjoy the finished product! *Please note that classes at the Co-op are usually larger in size and classes at Lars’ Kitchen are a bit more in-depth.
We provide fresh artesian well water… but feel free to bring your own beverage.
