My name is Joyce Murphy Youngblood and I am the designer and creator of Ingrained WoodPrints, Signs + Design. Wood prints are a creative way to display your favorite photo memories and print art. The hand-transfer print process combined with the unique grain pattern of wood, turns each custom wood print into a one-of-kind, organic, work of art. Various tones in the print, ingrained with the rich t
exture of the wood, give each piece depth and a vintage feel. As opposed to printing directly on the wood, the imperfections of the transfer process will create a distressed, rustic look that adds to that vintage feel and uniqueness of each piece. Photos and imagery with lighter tones or some white space work best for this process as more of the grain and texture of the wood will be visible through the image. The wood can also be painted white or whitewashed first, depending on if you want the woodgrain or only some of the grain to show through. Left natural is the best option for achieving that organic and vintage feel, but because of its hand transfer print to wood process, either way will still create a beautifully distressed, rustic piece of art. Custom designed text can also be added to your print such as quotes, names, dates, etc. In addition to wood prints, I also design and paint wood signage. My wood art is made from various types of woods, such as basswood, birch, maple, or recycled pallet or barn woods and are all protected with a matte finish polyurethane.
