In December 2010 my husband and I purchased a little florist in England located just over 100 miles South from London in a beautiful coastal city called Bournemouth. Now based in Beacon, NY we are excited to share our floral love with the Hudson Valley. Okay you want a bit more! So in 2010 I was working hard for a charity doing community outreach having earned a Psychology Degree. My husband was w
orking as a Science teacher. We were looking for an investment property that needed work. We found Forever Green Florist in Moordown, Bournemouth which had been there for 30+ years and was known for its floristry but also for its irregular hours and un-tidy upkeep as well as crying out to be boosted into the 21st Century we knew this could be it. But having no floristry training nor experience running our own business it was a huge leap of faith. Our gamble paid off as we worked tremendously hard for almost six years forging a name for ourselves as one of the top florists in the area (and nationwide). We were also fortunate to pick up some awards along the way. How did we do it? Simply put our ethos was and still is to treat the customer the way we want to be treated and to do for the customer as if we were doing it for our own loved one. Fast forward and we now have a beautiful son together. We decided it was time to move to USA where I originate my husband is British (that is another story) and we sold our lovely shop to my apprentice and her family. (Ideal people to take over). And so Mrs. Flowers was born! My father in law actually came up with it as he has been calling me this for years. I thought actually it would be quite fitting for me as I start a new business from scratch to have this "new" name. I am very passionate about the art of floristry and know I have truly found a calling in which my hands nor my heart will never let me quit.
