We’ve been experimenting with something new at Dockside Woodcraft, and I think we finally have something worth sharing.

Over the past few months, we’ve been working with UV printing to create what we’re calling faux stained glass — colorful, translucent pieces that have the look and character of stained glass, but allow us to create designs that would be difficult (and sometimes impossible) to do with traditional glass.

Boats, pets, favorite places, wildlife, sports themes…we’ve only scratched the surface of what we can do with it.

We liked this direction enough that we decided it deserved a place of its own.

It’s still very much a work in progress, and we’ll be adding new pieces and ideas as we go. But that’s part of the fun of building Dockside — trying things, figuring out what works, and occasionally stumbling onto something we think is pretty special.

Take a look and let us know what you think. And if there’s something you’d like to see us turn into a stained-glass-style piece, we’d love to hear the idea.

Update: WPXI has issued a code red air quality alert for the entire region. The air quality is predicted to get worse by this evening making it hazards to be outside for long periods of time. For the safety of our store owners, vendors and community we are unfortunately canceling tonight’s event.

Third Thursday on Third is back next week! Join the Beaver Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, July 16, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM for another fun evening in downtown Beaver!

Bring the family and enjoy unique vendors, local food trucks, extended shopping hours at our wonderful local businesses, live music, and dinner at one of our fantastic restaurants.
