Custom Candle was born from a need to find that perfect candle. I needed an eco-friendly, non-toxic, and long-lasting candle that had an aroma that would last long after the candle was extinguished. Many companies made these claims, but I found they fell far from the mark. It was more than just a preference for me – it was a need. With my family suffering from allergies and asthma, we could not fi

nd an ideal, non-toxic candle. To that end, I decided to start my own candle company. We worked long hours to perfect our candles and scents. We wanted to stay as “green” as possible. We created all-natural candles with great designs by using recycled bottles. We wanted to give the bottles a second life and new purpose, instead of filling landfills. Handmade designs are what I think makes the perfect custom candle unique. All our candles are hand poured and only use all-natural soy in high-quality natural products. Creating a custom design was our goal to set ourselves apart from those who just make claims they can’t deliver. A custom design also lets us spread our creative wings and gives you something special to bring home. The result is what we think makes the perfect candle with a hand poured unique production process. The candles are made of only the highest quality, which is what our customers come to expect and deserve. We keep it all-natural and simple, so why complicate the name – and Custom Candle was born.

How Different Waxes Affect a Candle’s Burn Time

The type of wax in a candle can make a real difference in how long it burns.

Soy wax usually burns slower than paraffin, which means a soy candle can often last longer in the same size vessel.

Paraffin wax usually burns faster. It can carry scent well, but it often does not last as long as soy.

Coconut wax also tends to burn slowly and evenly, especially when blended with soy wax.

Beeswax is one of the slower-burning waxes, but it has a natural scent of its own, so it is not always used for strongly scented candles.

For example, a 12 oz candle may burn differently depending on the wax:
• Soy wax: about 50–60 hours
• Paraffin wax: about 35–45 hours
• Coconut-soy blend: about 55–65 hours
• Beeswax: about 60+ hours

These times can vary, but the wax itself plays a big role. Slower-burning waxes help you get more hours from the same size candle.

Finished your candle? Don’t throw the jar away! Many candle vessels can be cleaned and reused as décor, storage, or a keepsake.

Here’s an easy way to clean your candle jar:

1️⃣ Freeze the jar
Place the candle jar in the freezer for a few hours. This helps shrink the leftover wax.

2️⃣ Remove the wax
Once the wax hardens, gently pop it out with a spoon or butter knife.

3️⃣ Remove the wick tab
Carefully loosen and remove the metal wick holder from the bottom.

4️⃣ Wash with warm soapy water
Clean the inside with dish soap and warm water to remove any leftover residue.

5️⃣ Reuse and enjoy
