Hopping on to say, if thrifting is your thing, we are entering the “Golden Age” of thrifting. I think I’ve mentioned this before. The baby boomers own the largest percentage of homes and they are downsizing. What does that mean for you and me? Thrift stores are filled with amazing quality items that have stood the test of time and are now looking for a new home!
Found this wooden chest of silverplated dinnerware and serving pieces. What’s fun was the original sales brochure was still in the box. Stated that the prices were from 1958.
Did a quick tally of what was included in the set (which didn’t include an additional set of 5 serving pieces that were in the box but not from original set)
Came to an approximate price of $382.75 that someone invested in 1958.
Then ask Google to translate that into today’s dollar value….. $4,436.46!!!!
Now, most of us aren’t spending $4,500 on dinnerware in 2026. Certainly not me. Especially when I can find a beautiful complete set with extras for $39.99 at my local Salvation Army 😊

A little before and after….. This gorgeous girl was dirty and dehydrated when I found her. But I knew with a little TLC she would be stunning. She did not disappoint!

** she does have her missing hardware. I just need to replace a screw. But I’m currently too hot and too tired to move from my chair in the driveway to find one 😂

Popping on today to confirm the date for the second inventory reduction garage sale.

Fingers crossed for some beautiful sunshine!

Also, wanted to give you a sneak peak at a project I’m working on. I’m doing a sunroom makeover. ***It’s quite possibly the slowest room makeover I’ve ever done. But I’m trying to take my time, be intentional and create a space filled with items I love instead of a space decorated just to be done.
If any of you shopped with me before, you may remember the faux copper table I DIYed that was an anchoring piece in my space. It wasn’t for sale because I knew someday I would create a room around it! That’s what’s happening.
I want to use it as a large dining table when family is in town. To that end, I’ve been gathering old antique wood chairs for seating.
I thought I would share a bit of the restoration process of those chairs. I have collected 8. Set a budget at no more than $10/chair. They had to be structurally sound but I was willing to refinish them if necessary. 5/8 will need refinished to fix their failing finish. But 3 just needed a good cleaning and a little love.
So how do you decide if an item needs restored or refinished? It depends on each chair and your end goal. I don’t want these chairs to look brand new, factory finished. I want them to retain the character that reflects the age of the chair. For me that’s a good candidate for restoration.
These three chairs got a good cleaning scrub with dawn/dawn power wash to remove years of dirt and grime. Then they got a coat of restore a finish followed by Howard’s feed and wax. The result is a beautiful antique chair with patina and character. There are a lot of YouTube tutorials on Restore a finish. But I’m happy to answer any questions you might have.
The other 5 chairs have flaking finishes or a build up of shellac (which is my least favorite finish! More on that later!) so they need stripping and refinishing. Much more labor intensive process….. 😐
I’ve included a couple before and after pictures of the chairs and a sneak peak at the sun porch!

This will be the first, of at least four sales, that will be scattered throughout the summer.
It includes all of the curated items you were accustomed to in the shop. As well as, new with tags items purchased through a wholesale distributor.
No early bird shopping
