Welcome to the Beersheba Springs Arts & Crafts Fair, the 4th full weekend in August each year. This event is held on the historic Beersheba United Methodist Assembly Grounds, site of the old hotel, and features close to 150 artisans & craft vendors. The setting is one-of-a-kind and as wonderful as the art. Only original Arts and Crafts or home produced articles are allowed. No commercial items or
flea market wares will be displayed or sold. With up to 13,000 visitors each year, "the two-day arts and crafts festival that has established itself as the kickoff to the fall festival season." The annual Beersheba Springs Arts and Crafts Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday on the historic United Methodist Assembly grounds in Grundy County. The property is the site of a 19th-century resort and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. "We had 13,000 come through last fall," said festival spokeswoman Fran Holt. "I've already had calls on three bus tours bringing senior citizens on day trips this year. In addition to the hand prepared hot meals that are prepared and sold in the hotel's historic dining hall, Hamburgers & Hot Dogs sold directly by the craft fair, there will also be various food vendors from all over the country there to provide some exciting food choices! All proceeds from the festival are returned to the community. The proceeds help fill food baskets for needy families as well as benefiting the Beersheba Springs Library, Beersheba Springs Rescue Squad, Beersheba Springs Community Center, Grundy County Center for Exceptional Citizens, local nursing homes, and North Elementary School.
