We returned to a recent Blue Hill project to install shades on the windows above the beds in this guest room. These should help regulate the light in the room and make sure guests aren’t awakened by early morning bright summer sun! (Just wait, you’ll get to see a lot more of this project soon!…)

We have an extensive range of styles and materials to work with. Cell shades, fabric roman shades, cordless roller shades, and even long fabric drapes to name a few. And we'll help you navigate them all and choose what works best for the specific situations in your home to keep the heat at bay during warmer months and hold it in during the cold, control light, or create more privacy.

Our process is simple… we'll bring a collection of samples right to your home along with ideas for the best designs and solutions. We'll coordinate everything with your paint colors, trims, and fabrics for continuity throughout your rooms. The turnaround for your custom solutions is pretty quick and we'll schedule our own installers to complete your project.

A little inspiration for your weekend... chairs!

Your living room and bedroom are obvious places to consider... but how about a spot in your dining room for a little reading corner by a window or a perfect place in your kitchen for a pair of chairs where you could share a cozy coffee with someone special?

Perhaps a dressing chair in a bathroom or walk-in closet space? Check your entryways for a spot to change shoes or drop bags. Hallways and stair landings could also have space for creating an unexpected place to steal a little quiet time in too.

Growing up in the 90's, I was surrounded by homes filled with color, pattern, and personality, spaces that felt truly lived in and loved... why did we ever stop making patterned upholstery? This collection is my answer to bringing that comfort and joy back into our homes." – Erin Napier

Even with a change of seasons coming, the question remains “are you guest ready”? Autumn in Maine continues to bring visitors to our homes and then there’s the holidays just beyond too. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! We can help you make all of your guest spaces a true pleasure for your visitors and a joy to you as well.

Several solutions you might have a need of are available in right our Showroom… bed frames, headboards, mattresses and sleep sofas in different styles. Dressers, chests, bedside tables, storage pieces, chairs, and shelving too. We can also help with bed pillows, sheet sets, mattress protectors, and top of bed layers. Rugs, lighting, mirrors, pillows, and throws... all the things you'll need for a comfortable and welcoming space your family and friends will love to be settled into when they visit!

And if you find yourself wanting a quick solution for an extra sleeping spot, especially in tight quarters, consider a cabinet bed! We always stock it in a queen size and there are other options that can be ordered too.

Let's take a look at a recent Room Design project for a client that needs help turning a spare bedroom into an office for working from home and to provide a space for occasional guests. They also want a comfortable "reading spot" and to have places for storage. The room has a lot of doors... two closets, an entry door, and a double door that leads to a bathroom and laundry room. All the doors and trim are currently dark wood and the number of them makes it all quite visually "busy" within the room.

We put the office desk in a corner looking towards the windows with a view to the outdoors. The closet next to it would house office storage and potentially more work surface area. We've used a comfortable pull-out sofa as the cozy "reading spot" and for accommodating any overnight guests when needed.

Our clients aren't afraid of using color and they like cool tones... blues, grays, and teals. We recommended a deep blue color for the room and using it as a "color drench"... painting the entire room including all the doors and trim. Doing this lets your eyes rest on the inviting furnishings in the room instead of moving through the busyness of all the many doors and trim. The space will become calm and welcoming.

Easy transformations can happen in just a few weeks and we can't wait to see it!
