Sometimes you want to add some greenery in your house, but have limited space.

Instead of placing our couch against the wall, I left some room between the wall and the couch; enough for some shelves and a small walkway for watering. This spot is especially nice in our home, since it's next to a sun-facing window.

For a final touch, I included a floor lamp that looks pleasing to the eyes but installed a grow-light bulb for the dreary days. Grow lights can also substitute when you don't have a corner with good natural light.

Styling bookshelf is fun. I love to mix and match materials and textures. Having a bookshelf near the window is also a plus if you plan to decorate with plants. Here, I mixed straight lines of the books with organic lines from the plants, shiny gold metal bookends with galvanized houses, glass candle holders with ceramic pot. And ,of course, softened it up with some fabric to give it a character with those imperfect lines. What do you have on your bookshelf ?

I have one snake 🐍 plant at home. Snake is a very low-maintenance plant. I feel like my always give me a second chance when I'm being negligent 😅. That's why I love her!

I'm playing dress-up with my snake today. I'm a pin collector (hoarder 😅). I'll get some as souvenirs whenever I travel. Problem is I don't get to show off my pins as much. Now, I use them to decorate my pot covers, and they remind me of all the fun places I've been! Do you have a collection of pins at home too? How do you display them?

Is your poinsettia still healthy and happy after holidays? I have two and they're still looking good! They are just inside my south-facing window (lots of sun on sunny days). My Auntie told me about A&A rule. Trim your poinsettia twice a year in April and August. And they will bloom again in time for next Christmas!

In summer 2020, we were fortunate enough to experience the J pod during our San Juan Island trip. At the time, we were told that one of the Orcas was expecting a baby! She delivered safely short after. Since then, Orcas become our family's spirited animal. This is the cause that we truly care about.
