Before it becomes a bed, it begins with nature.

Raw wool pulled from the earth. Flax grown in fields. Cotton woven into cloth. Horsehair, a material our craftspeople have trusted for generations.

These natural materials are layered by hand alongside spring systems that work beneath the surface, each component contributing to comfort, support, and breathability.

Some things are worth doing slowly. And slowly is the only way to make something worthy of the hours you surrender to sleep.

Long before alarm clocks and screens, our days were shaped by the rhythms of nature.

Circadian rhythms, our internal 24-hour clocks, help regulate sleep, recovery, energy levels, and countless other biological functions. Guided by light and darkness, they remind us when it is time to wake, unwind, and rest.

Yet modern life often disrupts these rhythms.

At Hästens, we believe restorative sleep begins by creating the conditions for nature to do what it has always done best. Through consistent routines, natural materials, and an environment designed for recovery, we can reconnect with the rhythms that support deep, restorative sleep.

A return to nature's rhythm.
A return to restorative sleep.

Each certificate, patent, accolade, and royal appointment represents a chapter in a story that began in Sweden in 1852 and continues today.

A testament to the craftsmen who came before, and those who carry the tradition forward. Each generation building upon the knowledge, skill, and mastery passed down through the last.

For generations, Hästens master craftspeople have worked with horsetail hair, a natural material still thoughtfully used within our beds today for its breathability, resilience, and ability to support restorative sleep.

Since 1852, the craft has remained rooted in the same philosophy: natural materials, skilled hands, and an uncompromising dedication to how we rest and recover.

Since 1852, Hästens has approached sleep as a craft.

Built by hand using techniques passed down through generations, each bed begins not with automation, but with skilled hands, natural materials, and an uncompromising standard of care. Horsehair, wool, cotton, flax, and pine are thoughtfully layered to create breathability, comfort, and restorative support designed to last for decades.

More than a bed, it is a continuation of Swedish heritage craftsmanship, shaped slowly, intentionally, and with deep respect for how we rest and recover.
