Pixel by pixel, patience by practice. ✨
This summer at art camp, we dedicated one hour a week to something a bit old-school: fuse beads.
And let me tell you, watching kids tackle those tiny plastic cylinders is fascinating. In a world dominated by touchscreens and instant digital gratification, sitting down to place tiny beads onto a pegboard is a major test of focus.

Why does this matter so much?
Because those tiny struggles build crucial foundations:
✅Fine Motor Control: Precision pincer grasps strengthen the exact hand and finger muscles needed for handwriting, using scissors, and everyday dexterity.
✅Hand-Eye Coordination: Aligning a millimeter-wide bead onto a tiny peg requires intense visual-spatial concentration.
✅Perseverance: When a hand slips and a whole pattern scatters, it teaches resilience. They learn to breathe, reset, and try again.

Over the course of the summer, I had over 100 kids walk through my studio doors, sit down at those tables, and push through the frustration. The resulting pixel art might be small in size, but in my book? It is a massive accomplishment.

So incredibly proud of every single camper who traded screen time for hand-made art this summer. You all crushed it! ❤️❤️

Look at these incredible custom clay bobbleheads our pottery campers sculpted! 🤪
Every single character has so much personality, from the bobbly top to the details on the body.
Getting those heads balanced just right takes some serious engineering, but these artists nailed it.

Working with clay across such a wide age range is always an adventure.
These elementary campers tackled slab construction and detailed relief designs to frame their mirrors!
Are these not the cutest ever??

We took on one of our most challenging art projects yet at camp this week: drawing classic Mario Brothers characters using a geometric facet technique! 🍄⭐

Breaking beloved characters down into geometric planes and angles is no easy task, but our campers truly pulled through with incredible focus and patience.

To bring these pieces to life, the kids explored color theory by creating a full range of tints using just one single color for their character, and then making them pop with a vibrant complementary color in the background.

The results are bright, bold, and seriously impressive. We are so proud of how hard everyone worked on this complex project!

Small world camp flew by!

I am completely blown away by the creativity that happened at Small world camp this week!
When you hand a group of kids some cardboard, paint, and hot glue, you expect a lot of fun—but their resourcefulness completely knocks my socks off.
They aren't just building houses; they are creating entire miniature worlds.
Some of the mind-blowing details:
🧻 Miniature toilet paper rolls that actually look like the real thing.
🚰 Water dripping from faucets engineered perfectly out of paper straws and carefully placed drops of hot glue.
🎤 A full performance stage.
🚑 Aln ambulance with parking!!

The focus, the problem-solving, and the pure imagination in the studio was incredible. Swipe to see some of these amazing, tiny masterpieces!

We had another group that created these custom ceramic bowls using texture tools, stamps and pasta letters to press positive affirmations into the clay.
A splash of watercolor made all those beautiful textures and kind words pop perfectly!
Whether they made them for Dad or as a self-love reminder, these are true keepsakes.

We finished these Father's Day pottery letters just before the summer break sendoff. The kids did an amazing job sculpting both the letters and matching envelopes, but I think I’m officially obsessed with the sound they make when they slide together.

Nothing beats a gift made by little hands. Happy Father's Day! 🎨❤️

Not my voice but definitely my struggle!
I cut my finger at least once a week but somehow I spend 50 hours a week just opening Band-Aid wrappers exclamation
I am certain the person that invented Band-Aid packaging has never tried opening a Band-Aid while his fingers are bleeding!!

Earth day art!
We went into outer space-art style!
Believe it or not but a project starts in the most peculiar ways...this time it was the fact I have 10 white fabric spray bottles which I am desperate to use up and have them not end up in the landfill!
After the project I am left with 9.5 white spray bottles lol🤦🏻‍♀️
If you have other ideas for these bottles please send them my way!
