If you’ve noticed the shop has been a little extra busy this summer… apparently customer projects weren’t enough 😂🔨🪵

The wife had another idea. 😂🤦‍♂️

What started as “I want a nice spot for the hot tub” somehow turned into building a whole deck 🪚🔨, setting up the gazebo, and then building privacy walls around the entire thing. 😂🪵

Between everything coming through the shop this summer 🔨🪚, I’ve been picking away at this whenever I could find the time.

A whole lot of lumber 🪵, stain 🖌️, sawdust, and WAY too many slats later… I think we can finally call this one pretty much finished. 😂🙌🔥

Gotta give the wife credit though ❤️😂 she had the vision and it turned out pretty damn good! 🔥

First the Chicken Mansion 🐔🏠… now the Hot Tub Retreat 🫧🍻🔥

At this point I’m a little afraid to ask what she wants next. 😂🤦‍♂️🔨🪵

🪵✨ SHOULD I START OFFERING THIS? ✨🪵

This project started with a customer contacting me to build her a custom barn door 🚪🔨, but it quickly turned into something more!

After having new flooring installed, she was told her existing hollow-core doors could be sanded down and refinished. When that didn't work out, she was quoted $1,400 for ONE set of new doors — not including installation. She needed TWO sets! 😳💰

There were also some unfinished issues left behind, including broken/mismatched trim and some flooring details. 🫤

She asked if I thought I could save the original doors instead of replacing everything.

Challenge accepted! 💪🔨🪵

The pictures show the process so far! 📸 I'm giving her original doors a completely new look and making new trim to match. 🙌

And this project really got me thinking... 🤔💡

Should I start offering this for doors, cabinets, vanities and other woodwork? 🚪🗄️🪵

Not everyone has the money to go out and replace all their doors or put in brand-new cabinets 💰 — but that doesn't mean you can't still have something nice! 🏡❤️

Sometimes what you already have just needs a little work, some creativity, and a second life.

🔨 You can update your home, make it look good again, and do it without the price tag of replacing everything with new. 💵🙌

🌿🪴✨ Another custom project in the books! ✨

🔨 Just finished this custom potting bench and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! The sleek black painted base paired with the burnt wood top gives it a clean rustic look that's built to last. 🖤🪵

💧 The top is finished with teak oil to help protect it from water, scratches, and everyday wear while bringing out the natural beauty of the wood grain. 🌦️🌱

🌼 Perfect for: 🪴 Repotting plants 🌿 Organizing gardening supplies 🌸 Greenhouses 🏡 Patios 🌻 Garden spaces

Everything I build is custom made to order, so if you have a different size, style, or finish in mind, I'd be happy to bring your idea to life! 💪🔨

🛠️ Another personal backyard improvement is complete! 💪

Finally wrapped up the 12' x 12' hot tub pad! It started with 4 tons of compacted gravel and finished with a platform built using 2x8s for the frame and joists, 2x6 decking, and 8" on-center joist spacing.
Overkill? Maybe... but when it's going to support a 4,000ish-pound hot tub, I'd rather overbuild it than wonder if I should have. 😄

Next up: the hot tub and gazebo! 🔥♨️ I can't wait to see this backyard transformation come together.

Now I just have to convince the chickens the hot tub isn't their new community bath. 🐔😂 Knowing them, they'll probably be the first ones trying to hop in!

Stay tuned for the next update! 👀🏡

Well... I had to make another post... 😂🐔

The wife decided the chickens needed a few night lights... and I have to admit, she did a pretty awesome job hanging them! 😍✨

I wasn't sure how it'd turn out, but seeing everything lit up at night definitely changed my mind. It gives the whole coop a cozy look, and I think the chickens are living better than I am now. 😂

What do you guys think? I think she knocked it out of the park! 💡🐓❤️
