We Can Help You Design Your Dream Home With A Full Line Of Custom Window Coverings!

Ever notice how the right fit can make even a simple window treatment look completely different?

Store-bought blinds are manufactured in standard sizes, but your windows aren’t always standard. Even small differences in width, height, depth, or window shape can lead to gaps, awkward mounting, or blinds that simply don’t look quite right.

Custom blinds are measured specifically for your windows. That precise fit creates a cleaner, more finished appearance while helping your blinds operate properly and provide the light control and privacy you expect. You’ll also have more flexibility when choosing materials, finishes, slat sizes, and operating options.

At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we’ll professionally measure your windows and help you design custom blinds that look like they were made for your home—because they were.

Solar shades and roller shades may look similar, but they’re designed to solve different problems.

Solar shades use specialized screen-like fabrics to reduce glare and UV exposure while helping preserve your view outdoors. They’re especially useful in sunny rooms where you want protection without completely blocking natural light.

Roller shades offer a wider range of fabric opacities, from light-filtering to room-darkening and blackout options, giving you more flexibility when privacy or light blockage is the priority.

Not sure which makes sense for your windows? At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we’ll help you compare fabrics and opacity levels to find the right balance of light, privacy, glare control, and style.

Why can the price of custom shutters vary so much from one home—or even one window—to another?

Several details can affect the final cost, including the size and number of windows, shutter material, louver size, frame style, specialty window shapes, and installation requirements. A standard rectangular window, for example, may require a very different shutter design than an arch or other uniquely shaped window.

That’s also why an accurate quote starts with your actual windows—not a one-size-fits-all price.

At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we’ll help you explore the options, understand what affects your investment, and design custom shutters that fit both your windows and your priorities.

Zebra shades, banded shades, dual shades…are they all the same thing?

In most cases, zebra shades and banded shades refer to the same style of window treatment. They feature alternating bands of sheer and opaque fabric that move past one another as the shade is adjusted.

Line up the sheer bands to let in more natural light and maintain a more open view, or overlap the opaque sections for increased privacy and light control. It’s this ability to transition between the two that makes banded shades such a versatile choice for everyday living.

At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we’ll help you explore fabrics, colors, and operating options to customize banded shades for your home.

Sliding glass doors need a window treatment that can keep up with how often you use them.

Vertical blinds are a practical choice for wide doors and expansive windows because they move side-to-side for easy access and feature rotating vanes for flexible light and privacy control. Open them to enjoy the view, tilt the vanes to soften incoming sunlight, or close them when you want more privacy.

At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we’ll help you customize vertical blinds to fit your doors, your style, and your everyday routine.

Love the look of wood at your windows? You have more than one way to get it.

Wood shutters offer a substantial, built-in appearance that can highlight the architecture of your windows. Their adjustable louvers provide excellent control over light and privacy, while genuine wood brings natural warmth and character to the room.

Faux wood blinds offer a similar warm, classic look with a different construction and typically a more budget-friendly price point. They’re also durable and easy to maintain, making them a practical option for busy spaces.

The right choice comes down to the look, functionality, and investment you want for your home. At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we’ll help you compare your options and find the perfect fit for your windows.

Bathrooms and kitchens ask a little more from your window treatments.

Because these spaces are regularly exposed to humidity, splashes, and changing temperatures, moisture-resistant composite or synthetic shutters can be a smart alternative to traditional wood. You still get the timeless, tailored look of shutters—plus easy-to-clean surfaces, excellent privacy, and adjustable light control.

At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we’ll help you choose shutters made to handle the demands of your space while looking beautiful for years to come.

Want your home to feel a little warmer, softer, and more connected to nature?

Woven wood shades bring natural texture to the window using materials and fibers that create beautiful variations in color and weave. Instead of feeling overly polished or formal, they add the kind of warmth and dimension that works especially well in relaxed, organic interiors.

They’re also highly customizable. Depending on the look and function you need, woven wood shades can be paired with different liner options for additional privacy and light control—so you can enjoy their natural beauty without sacrificing practicality.

At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we’ll help you choose the right weave, color, and lining to create custom woven wood shades that feel perfectly at home in your space.
