This has been the summer of reupholstery… more clients than there are months in the summer having multiple pieces reupholstered. Two reasons we recommend reupholstering. 1) The client has a piece that they adore or is an heirloom, and we want to update it to match the new style. 2) Or — as in this case — finding the exact piece in the “right” fabric is more limiting and expensive than finding a well priced piece that we outfit in our dream fabric! In this Belmont living room we had three different pairs of furniture all upholstered and some amazing fabric. Cannot wait to see this room finished!

Remember that cute fabric? Feeling super grateful for all of the amazing people who make AWD shine. This is a chair we designed for a client’s guest room, often used by her young granddaughter, part of a full-house interior redesign project. Thanks to the amazing trades and specialists with whom we partner, this chair went from vision to reality at lightning speed and cost less than most off-the-shelf options. Having so much fun with this client augmenting furniture she already has to create cohesive decor! What started as four rooms has morphed into seven. Cannot wait to use this custom fabric to upholster a chair and ottoman we already purchased for the guest room. And cannot wait to share the final photos when we’re done!

But don’t let that stop you from using it; it’s a fun way to provide pops of color and whimsy, especially when used with easy-to-remove applications in micro spaces.
