A little corner of my home that feels like stepping into another time. 🤍

Antique books stacked with stories older than me, a bit of wild charm with taxidermy, warm candlelight reflecting off gold accents, and layers of blankets and pillows that invite you to stay awhile.

The most special piece of all sits right on top — my granny’s published book. Holding her words in the same space where I curl up to read feels like a quiet kind of magic. 🤍

This little reading nook is cozy, a little curious, and filled with pieces that tell stories… past and present.
A big thank you to my husband for helping me bring my vision to reality with perfect timing as a spring storm moves in - time to grab a tea & a book 🤍

This collection deserved another post now that it has expanded into a third printers drawer. I just love the unique shape and sizes of metal tags. The different purposes they served in another lifetime.

The collection started with cow tags and quickly evolved into brass tags, dog tags, handmade tags, numbered pins, etc 🏷️
They did their job and now they retire on the wall to be admired in all their shiny beauty.

We are redoing our downstairs. We have got floor laid, we have scraped popcorn ceilings, painting every room and closet, put new lighting up, bought new furniture, building a reading nook,….currently sanding priming and painting all the trim door frames and doors… needless to say I’m tired and sore. Standing here staring at the next thing to sand trying to work up the energy. Then I saw it. The warmth of the sun shining through the window beaming down on the pile of decor I have stacked on the bed. It’s gorgeous!
While the project may be big it’s really the small things that matter -!things I take for granted.
My husband and I are doing this together. Sure we have different ideas on how to do things but we divide and conquer.
I am able bodied. I can climb the ladder, I can carry the door. My hands cramp from sanding and painting but I’m thankful I can do it.
Small things get lost in the details. For now I will sip my coffee, take in the day I’ve been given & be thankful for all the blessings that I have 🤍
