Why choosing seasonal florals will make your event stand out?
For this design I did in November of 2023 for a Friendsgiving, I used 90% local & seasonal elements! I was able to get my hands on these heirloom mums grown by which kind of set the whole tone for the design. I also used products I just had around the neighborhood! I foraged for some dried oak leaf hydrangea & just some dried grasses! Last I had some left over anthurium from a small shoot that added the perfect pop of something to tie it all together!
So how does choosing seasonal and local items make your event stand out? Well I would have not been able to get any of these items from a wholesaler. Making this design completely unique just by using what I could get in my area!
Another perk is PRICING!! Using flowers that are in season usually means there is a large amount of those flower varieties, which keeps the prices down. If you’re trying to have peonies at a fall wedding you might get 5 stems for an outrageous price & chances are they’re going to be small or poor quality!
Bringing me to the next point- QUALITY. Buying seasonally ensures the quality of product is going to be much much better. Especially if you can get local goods, cause they don’t have to be shipped causing further damage.
So make sure to ask your florist what flowers are in season and how you can bring those into your wedding design!!
