Stitching America Together - Cali Edition - Part 1 of 6 ✨

Y’all, I spent 6 days in Southern California checking out our craft kits in the local stores and came back full of inspiration and memories that will last a lifetime 🥹

Day 1 was spent exploring Koreatown, and I came across some amazing gems that I will definitely be revisiting on a future trip.
1. Meehee Hanbok in LA for an incredible assortment of hanbok and accessories, and they also do custom orders! I can’t wait to order one for myself someday 🥲
2. The calligraphy exhibit at the Korean Cultural Center (Korean Cultural Center LA)🤯
3. RNY COFFEE STUDIO cortado
4. Western Plaza mini mall for a haircut, home goods shopping (and easy parking)
5. BCD TOFU HOUSE on a late night sent me into a flow state
6. The best 냉면 (buckwheat noodles) I’ve ever had in my life Yuchun at Koreatown Plaza

Tackling this studio organization, one craft at a time ☺️

Check out our little basket kit, available in Walmart stores nationwide and online for $14.47! All you need to bring to the craft table are scissors, a ruler, and a little tape :) It’s a super simple project and once you get the base down, finishing is a breeze. It’s the perfect project for a cozy weekend and it’s the perfect size at 5” wide and 3.5” tall for precious keepsakes and odds and ends that need a home.
Once you get into it, you’ll see all sorts of ways you can take the basic principles of coil basket making, and let your imagination run wild with different shapes and materials.

My kid called our house an ‘artist’s dream’—clutter, ongoing craft projects, and all ✨

Navigating moves, raising teens, and major life transitions this summer meant rethinking how I use my space. I’m slowly transforming this home into a hybrid content creation and order fulfillment hub for Hillfolk on a shoestring budget—repurposing old shop furniture and decade-old bargains.

It’s cozy, a little chaotic, full of plants and sentimental treasures, and entirely focused on sparking joy. Website relaunch and online shop updates are coming this fall! 🌿✂️

In the meantime, I’m busy working on lots of new content, more tutorials, so don’t forget to follow us here and on our other channels so you don’t miss the latest 🫶

As the kids head back to school and we step into a new season, I’m so excited to share some big news of my own! 🌾✨

I’ve been accepted into the Milestone Circles program at the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center ! Over the next 12 weeks, I’ll be diving into mentorship, resources, and growth opportunities alongside an incredible group of entrepreneurs.

I’m deeply honored and grateful to be part of this cohort. I can’t wait to see how this journey helps me grow as a person and helps Hillfolk flourish as a business and community.

Part 1 of the WISCONSIN edition of the Hillfolk Stitching America Together Tour 😍

I went to visit my besties Rachel Olzer and Seal up north and stay at their farm and check out the Hillfolk craft kits in action at the Walmart in OshKosh! Not gonna lie, this craft section is one of my favorites, partially because of where our kits were located, in a 🌈 of flowers, thread and bias tape. Perfect for Pride Month and full of whimsy and creative potential 😍

Still in shock over getting to meet THE GOAT and one of my all time favorite role models at a lovely breakfast with some of my favorite chefs and creatives, all thanks to the incredible 🥹✨

I gifted her a little Hillfolk gift bag with our Outsider cross stitch kits, available along with our favorite tea towels, all tied off with a Hillfolk 🎀😍 I also got to share with her about the time I had met her previously at OG Pressroom, when she ordered tomato vegetable lentil soup to go and loved it 😭🥲🥹

She is so warm and friendly, and so gracious with her time and conversation and I’m so thankful we got to connect at this point in my journey, it was truly an honor to share space with her and all these amazing folks 🫶💕

📣5/28 - HF craft night popup ✨🫶🤩 from 630-830 pm .bikeshop 🥳⚡️

Can’t wait to be spending a week in ATL connecting with old friends and family and bringing the Hillfolk crafty vibes to our .bikeshop collab popup night! I will be bringing our indigo vat, free kits to give away to the first five attendees, and other craft goodies so that anyone who shows up can dip their toe into a little bit of low stakes, easy, and joyful creativity✨

Atlanta has been my second home for over ten years and I’m so excited to be able to enjoy family time, connecting with friends, hopefully a little bike riding, and lots of amazing food of course! ATL is an incredible hub of culture, history, art, and food, so stay tuned into our socials so you can see what we are up to next week!

Our craft kits are available in most Walmart stores in the Atlanta area, so if you can’t make the popup, you can find a little bit of the HF vibe to take home with you at your nearest Walmart 🫶

Check out this precious stop motion animation of our lil Hillfolk toad 🥹 created by Nate Dreschel ( ), a Philadelphia based multidisciplinary artist creating handcrafted animation for brands and original storytelling ✨

Nate reached out to me here on Insta and asked if it would be cool to share his art that was inspired by one of our top selling craft kits ⚡️💙✨

We connected on a zoom call where we talked about his creative practice and how he came across Mr. Toad. Nate had been at Walmart getting supplies for another project, came across our kits, loved the toad, and brought it home to try, and had so much fun creating it, he was inspired to do this animation for us 🥹

It was so great to share our work and mutual love of whimsy and the magic of creating these characters. I love seeing how each kit creation is unique with its own personality 🥰🥹⚡️
