Why I’m Skipping the Union Square Mosh Pit This Saturday (And What I’m Doing Instead) 🌷🎨

In 2023, I braved the chaos. I spent 3 hours "weaseling" my way through a Black Friday-style mosh pit just to walk away with these 8 tulips. It was a warrior move, but looking back at the 30,000 people who left empty-handed and frustrated... it felt a little harsh.

The reality? By 2:30 PM, the "garden" is mostly dust and trampled stems.San

Francisco deserves better than a dirt patch and a selfie.

This year, I’m keeping it real in the city.
Instead of fighting for a smooshed flower, I’m hitting the line to look out for the people at the back.

Dexter 🐾
Last year I spent some time studying this wonderful face in watercolor. Dogs like this are a gift to paint — so much personality in the eyes and expression.

As a lifelong animal lover and painter, these portraits are about observation as much as technique. Every dog has their own story written into their features.

Seeing Dexter again yesterday in my feed made me realize I never shared the finished piece here.
Looking forward to finally getting this portrait to his human soon.
