I knit the Orbit Shawl back in June when the weather turned and honestly my knitting mojo was fading. This was a mindless project that allowed my hands to keep moving, and let my mind wander. Not only that. it worked up quickly, giving me the finished object domapine hit all us fiber artist crave. “Detroit Murals” drops in September
Driving in Detroit whether it is on the side streets or the freeway you catch bright bursts of color. The murals around the city of Detroit have an almost iconic feel to them. The bright pops of color splashed against the stark gray background of city buildings brings a smile to my face. Lisa from Yarn Nerds captured the urban beauty of various murals around the city. The golden yellows, blue teals, purples, and rich green, make this yarn feel alive and inviting.

You can choose between her fi*****ng base - 399 yards in 80% fine superwash merino and 20% nylon - or DK base - 246 yards in 100% fine merino superwash.

Crochet Edge T-Shirt Class

Join us on Saturday, August 22nd to learn how to add a crocheted edge to a Mitchell Wool T-shirt. I love my Mitchell Wool shirt and thought it would be fun to add a pop of colorful yarn around the edge. Melanie grabbed her skip blade and crochet hook and was off. She will guide you thru the steps of cutting your shirt, using a skip blade, and crocheting a fun border.

Crochet experience is require to take this class.

Materials needed: a Mitchell Wool t-shirt, 200-300 yards of worsted weight yarn, G crochet hook.

T-shirt sizes are limited, please come in early to grab your shirt. If you are able to stay and have Melanie hem your t-shirt prior to class, it will make Saturday run much smoother.

Last night was magically🥰 80 fiber artist boarded the Detroit Princess Boat and stitched along the Detroit River. My favorite part was watch people meet new fiber friends, share their current WIP or asking “What are you wearing, it’s gorgeous?” The rain stayed away and we had a beautiful sunset over the fabulous city of Detroit! Mary and I can’t thank everyone enough for joining us, our hearts are full❤️ We are already planning next years!

Take me out to the ball game ... only if I can bring my yarn! We are excited to be joining the Detroit Tigers on Monday, September 21st at 6:40 for Stitch and Pitch! Grab your current project and enjoy of evening of baseball and stitching. Tickets are $23.

A bus will be departing Have You Any Wool at 5:45 to take you directly to Comerica park and will return following the 7th inning. Riding the bus is an additional $50.
