Celebrating forests is our jam! Trees are pretty amazing creatures - they communicate via fungal networks at their roots, share and trade vital nutrients with each other, see the value in having their neighbors thrive, talk to each other AND other species thru chemical signals in the air, are older and live longer than us humans, learn to adapt to changing landscapes and weather …. And that’s not even listing all the benefits they give to so many species, including us. The more science is uncovering, the more intelligent they seem. We could learn so much from them. So protect them while they’re still here, because once they’re gone, it takes more than a human lifetime to get them back.

Spring is finally in full swing here in the mitten, the frogs are out and singing with full force. Morels are starting to rear their heads. We’re excited to get back into the woods! T-shirts one day, sweaters the next. Worms on the sidewalks. Baby Robins peeping from their nests. Trees are exploding with color. Asparagus is extra delicious. Gardens are sprouting. Sunshine wedged between drippy days. So much to look forward to - Inner peace.

First tree planting with this year - for team J&D (and friends). Rain, mud, and temps in the 30s, so didn’t get much for pictures, BUT we got NINE trees in the ground between us! Big thank you to all who showed up and did the work! And thank you Megan and Emily for capturing the awesome pics!! 🌳🌳🌳
