and DONE! another 1/48 P-47 from MiniArt...this time the P-47D-11RE in the markings of "Miss Mutt".

Painted entirely with MRP Lacquers. Decals are Aftermarket. Weathering done with oils, Tamiya weathering powders and panel liners.

Every time I build one of these MiniArt 1/48th kits I appreciate them more to be honest. I am building their new FW-190 soon and am very much looking forward to that! Time to finish the small details (Drop tank and nav lights) and get it packed up to head to its new owner.

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! I hope you are enjoying the holiday with family.

I am spending my day messing around with some miniatures….putting together the marines from the warhammer 40,000 starter set and then also doing a box of Ork Boyz just because they looked cool.

Although I am well versed with an airbrush, miniature painting is a new venture for me mostly being done with brushes. I plan to make liberal use of my airbrush but I’m starting out with the known brush painting methods to get a feel for miniatures.

I painted the marines using a standard acrylic brushing With Vallejo paints, I mostly airbrushed the dreadnought and now I’m going to try a “slapchop” type method with the orks using Vallejo xpress…see which one I prefer.

I honestly didn’t think miniatures would be for me, but I am thoroughly enjoying putting these together.

Work is progressing on the 1/48 P47 from MiniArt….main paint work is done time to do the decaling! As I mentioned previously this kit has been a joy to build a second time…really like the MiNIArt stuff…definitely gonna try and get my hands on their new FW190.

Got a new subject I’m starting this week for a customer in the 1/72 darkstar from the Top Gun movies so that will be fun….keep an eye out for that build.

Time to get painting on another 1/48 MiniArt P-47D-2-RE..this time their Razorback in the markings of "Miss Mut".

This is an olive drab bird, so a little easier than the last NMF I did...Doing essentially the same aircraft the second time round is also much more pleasant....you learn that you simply should not follow the instructions...they make some things seem so complicated or have you do things in an order that just makes your life more difficult. But second time round I can build it how I know makes sense....and its going together much quicker and with less effort.

Anyway! everything is masked up...time to get priming and get going on layering on the OD! Will post pictures again once that is done.
