🌊✨ Sorting day at By The Sea SXM ✨🌊

Sometimes the smallest pieces are the most important.

Every bit of sea glass in these trays was personally found by us while snorkeling the waters of Saint Martin. No bulk purchases, no mystery sources—just hours spent exploring beneath the surface, one treasure at a time.

Each piece has been touched, collected, cleaned, sorted, and carefully saved for a purpose. Even those tiny fragments that many people would overlook are destined for something special—future stud earrings, delicate embellishments, ornaments, and one-of-a-kind designs.

It’s a slow process, but it’s part of what makes every piece we create so meaningful. From the sea… to our hands… to something beautiful. 💙💚

🌊✨ And just like that… this is officially the LAST treasure plate of the 2026 season 💙

Today’s discoveries definitely did not disappoint:
💚 soft Caribbean greens
🤍 icy whites and seafoam pastels
💙 two beautiful blue pottery shards
🚓 a Duplo police officer apparently responding to the scene
🚗 a tiny car that has clearly lived a rough island life
💡 one glowing UV piece hidden among the treasures
…and honestly, that perfectly shaped brown sea glass heart may have stolen the whole show 🤎

There’s something kind of poetic about ending the season with a heart-shaped piece from the sea.

Now comes the exciting part…
The shop reopens VERY soon and these little ocean treasures will slowly begin turning into jewelry, ornaments, gifts, and tiny pieces of Saint Martin magic 🌴✨

How fun is this! One of our final little treasure plates of the season? 🌊✨

The colors today feel extra soft and dreamy… all those seafoam greens, frosted whites, pale aquas, and those tiny electric blues hiding in the middle like little Caribbean jewels 💚💙

We even found TWO UV pieces sitting side by side (always a thrill 👀), plus some beautifully worn tempered glass that will absolutely become future “Caribbean Ice” earrings someday soon.

And can we talk about the tiny metal finds for a second…
Is it just me, or does anyone else see a little bird beside a tiny bear? 🐦🐻
The ocean really does love leaving us tiny mysteries.

One of the things I’ll miss most soon is this exact ritual:
Morning walks, salty fingers, sorting little finds onto a plate, and wondering where each piece began its journey before the sea softened it into treasure.

This collage captures one of our final sea glass collecting outings of the season in Saint Martin — snorkeling beneath the old pier, searching the ocean floor for tiny treasures, and soaking in the beauty that inspires every piece we create.

Every bit of authentic sea glass we use is personally hand-collected by us, shaped naturally by the sea over many years, then carefully transformed into meaningful jewelry and keepsakes back home.

There’s always a little nostalgia in these last collecting trips… gratitude for another incredible season, and excitement to share all the new creations coming soon.
