FALL IS FOR PLANTING TREES! Did you know fall is one of the BEST times to plant a tree? Cooler temperatures, warm soil, and less stress from the summer heat make autumn the perfect season to help your new tree establish strong roots before winter!

Why Plant Trees in the Fall?
🌳 Stronger Roots: Trees can focus their energy on root development instead of producing new leaves.
💧 Less Water Stress: Cooler temperatures mean less moisture loss, but don't forget to water!
🌱 Warm Soil: Even as the air cools, soil temperatures remain warm enough to encourage root growth.
🌷 Head Start on Spring: Fall-planted trees have a chance to establish roots before next year's growing season!

Fall Tree Planting Tips:
Plant before the ground freezes, ideally allowing 4–6 weeks for roots to establish.
Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball, but no deeper. Keep the root flare at or slightly above ground level.
Water deeply after planting and continue watering until the ground freezes, especially during dry spells.
Add 2–3 inches of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the trunk.
Avoid fertilizing late in the season. Focus on healthy root establishment!

AMARYLLIS BULBS ARE HERE!

Want gorgeous, show-stopping blooms just in time for Christmas? Now is the time to start planning! Amaryllis bulbs are easy to grow indoors and produce HUGE, beautiful blooms that add the perfect touch of holiday cheer!

Most amaryllis bulbs take approximately 6–10 weeks to bloom, depending on the variety and growing conditions. For Christmas blooms, aim to plant in mid-October through early November! Earlier planting gives you a little extra wiggle room!

How to Plant Your Amaryllis:
Choose a Pot: Select a pot with drainage holes that's just 1–2 inches wider than the bulb.
Plant It Right: Use well-draining potting mix, leaving the top 1/3 of the bulb exposed above the soil.
Water Sparingly: Water after planting, then allow the top of the soil to dry between waterings. Avoid keeping the bulb soggy!
Find a Sunny Spot: Place in a bright, warm location to encourage growth.
Watch It Grow! Once the flower stalk appears, rotate your pot occasionally to keep it growing straight. Move it out of direct sunlight once blooms open to help flowers last longer.

Want to keep your jack-o'-lantern looking SPOOK-tacular all the way through Halloween? Follow these 4 simple tricks to help your pumpkin last longer!

#1 – GIVE IT A BATH!
Before carving, wash your pumpkin with a mild, diluted bleach-water solution to help reduce mold growth. Never mix bleach with other cleaners!

#2 – KEEP IT COOL!
Pumpkins love cooler temperatures! Keep your carved pumpkin in a cool, shaded spot whenever possible. Avoid direct sunlight and excessive heat.

#3 – SEAL IN THE MOISTURE!
Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the exposed carved edges to help prevent drying and shriveling. Keep away from open flames—use battery-operated lights instead!

#4 – GIVE IT A SOAK!
Is your pumpkin looking a little droopy? Soak it in cool water for a few hours to help rehydrate it and bring back some of its firmness!

🎃 BONUS TIP: Wait until closer to Halloween to carve your pumpkin! Uncarved pumpkins typically last much longer than carved ones.
