If you're trying to bring more color into your home but don't know where to start, I always recommend looking beyond single colors and thinking about the combinations.

Lately, I've been especially drawn to pairings that balance something bold with something soft. Ink navy and ochre. Chocolate brown and baby blue. Rich, saturated colors next to something lighter and unexpected.
It's that contrast that makes a room feel interesting. The bold color gives it depth and personality, while the softer shade keeps everything from feeling too heavy.

I'm rounding up a few of the color combinations I've been obsessed with lately. These are the pairings I'd be reaching for if I were designing a room right now.

If you're trying to pick a marble slab for your kitchen and every option is starting to look the same, you're not alone. It's one of the hardest decisions in a renovation, and most people freeze up when they get to the slab yard.

I do a lot of my picking at ARCA and a few slabs always stop me in my tracks. Not because they're the biggest or the most expensive, but because of the color, the character, the kind of movement you can't order twice.

I'm rounding up a few of my recent favorites here. These are the ones I'd put in my own kitchen without a second thought.

I see the same issues in almost every kitchen. Cool lighting that makes everything feel harsh. Hardware that blends into nothing. Counters that are either too bare or too cluttered. The details are always what people skip over, but they’re doing the most work. Five fixes, none of them require a contractor, and most of them cost less than you’d think. XXNT

Not every project gives you a week like this. Spent the week in Turks and Caicos deep in finish selections for a villa I’ve been thinking about since we first started discussing the project. When you’re designing for a place like this, the location does a lot of the thinking for you. Everything we chose had to make sense here, the salt air, the humidity, the sun, the way this house is going to live and age over time. Cumaru wood is going throughout the entire home and it was an easy decision. It comes from the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, naturally one of the densest and hardest woods in the world, incredibly resistant to moisture and wear. It doesn’t just survive in a climate like this, it thrives. That’s the kind of material thinking I love, where beauty and function are completely inseparable. XXNT
