Artisan Alley at Blue Highway Fest hosted by the Mountain Artisans of Big Stone Gap Vendor Spotlight!

Looking for a unique wood crafted gift? Maybe something practical? Look no further than Hill's Handcrafts by Bob Hill! Bob is returning to Artisan Alley at Blue Highway Fest for the second year, and he is also a charter member of the Mountain Artisans of Big Stone Gap!

Bob creates beautiful wood crafts such as casserole dish carrier, a gumball machine, a bear chair, a cork trivet, and more!

Bob states that he has been wood crafting as a hobby for about 8 years now. He says he enjoys working with his hands.

Come by and see the wonderful things he has to offer. He will be on Artisan Alley at Blue Highway Fest all weekend.

💥The Mountain Artisans of Big Stone Gap are having a raffle!! 💥

We have an amazing basket full of wonderful goodies from some of our members as well as some of our local businesses that we will be raffling off to a lucky winner!

Let’s provide some backstory on how this came to be…

Our Chairwoman, Sherry and her husband George, found out in May that their daughter, Andrea, had leiomyosarcoma. This is a cancer that attaches to smooth organs in the body. Andrea began treatments in May in Charlottesville, VA, which meant moving away from home for several months. Andrea is back home now in Big Stone Gap and undergoing a new treatment locally. But moving back home doesn’t mean there aren’t still expenses not covered by Andrea's insurance.

The Mountain Artisans had been kicking around the idea of a raffle basket for a while and decided that we wanted to do it as a fundraiser. And why not help one of our own?

❗️ We will be donating 100% of money raised from this fundraiser to Andrea to assist with her medical costs.

❓ How can you help? By purchasing a raffle ticket or five. Tickets will be $5.00 each or 5 tickets for $20.00.

⭕️ We will be selling them starting today until December 20, 2025. On December 20, 2025, at the Christmas Market at the Greenbelt in Lights rides, we will hold the drawing.

We would like to thank all of our donors who have graciously contributed items for our basket (and we have more items coming)! This wouldn’t have been possible without them! Our raffle basket is currently valued at nearly $600 and we have more items coming in!

Spring Fling Vendor Spotlight!

Hill's Handcrafts by Bob Hill will be at Spring Fling. Bob is a charter member of the Mountain Artisans of Big Stone Gap and is an excellent woodworker. He makes many practical items such as a bear rocking chair for children and an adjustable casserole dish carrier as well as fun items such as the marble game and a gum ball dispenser (he offers free gum balls too!)
