Happy National Schnauzer Day to my favorite little bearded babies 🤍🐶

I grew up with schnauzers, and we’ve never not had at least one. I love how much personality they all have. They’re smart, stubborn, funny, dramatic, loyal…and VERY talkative 😅

At this point, I really can’t imagine my life without a schnauzer in it. Although knowing me, it’ll probably always be more than one 🙃😂

Taking 3 schnauzers for their annual exams at the same time is definitely not a task for the weak 😅

Mason has lost a lot of weight over the summer, so we’re trying to figure out what’s going on. He’s down to 9.5 lbs 💔 His bloodwork came back okay, which is great news, but also means we still don’t have answers yet. Other than the weight loss and a few other things we’ve noticed, he still seems to be in really good spirits and even does the stairs at lot better than last year! Our vet is going to consult with an internist about next steps. Please send Mason all the good vibes 🤍🤍

Overall there was lots of barking, lots of dramatics (especially about the thermometer 😳), lots of treats, and three very cute schnauzers 🤭

So proud of these two 🥹🏆

Last week at Fetch and Flex, Charlotte and Oliver both earned their AKC Novice Trick Dog titles! They each had to perform 10 tricks to earn it.

Charlotte’s cutest tricks were definitely jumping through the hoop + roll over. I’ve been trying to teach her roll over for 8.5 years and she was never interested… until I started teaching Oliver 🙄 I was shocked by how quickly and effortlessly she did it at Fetch and Flex. I thought we were just there to practice!

We’ve been spending so much time this summer working on Oliver’s overstimulation/reactivity and helping him slow down and think, so it’s been really fun to make time for tricks now that he can focus better in class. Shockingly, ‘leave it’ is his best and most reliable trick 😂

His hoop jump is also very cute, and I want to teach both of them to jump through my arms next!

Charlotte would just like everyone to know that she earned her title before Oliver did 😝

Happy Gotcha Day to my Olipop 🤍✨

I had no plans to get a puppy anytime within the next couple of years, and had been saying for years that I wouldn’t get another boy dog… but then Ollie decided that Char and I were his family while we were babysitting him 🥹

He came into my life when I needed him more than I knew and has brought me so much joy over the past year. He’s somehow been both the sweetest, easiest boy and an absolute piece of work 😅

Shoutout to Oliver for making it through his first year without destroying much. Charlotte, on the other hand, was an absolute terror as a puppy 🥲 Climbing out of playpens, trying to eat textbooks, unpacking boxes, eating my baby doll’s hands…I could keep going, but this post is about Ollie 😉😂

I love how much this little boy loves me, and I’m so glad he decided we were his family. He is such a happy boy, and we love him so much 🥰

My favorite boys recently turned 1 and 14 🥹🩵

This past year has flown by with Ollie, and every year with Mason feels a little more precious.

Ollie has spent the last year keeping us all entertained (and occasionally testing our patience 👀), while Mason has spent another year perfecting the art of being a grumpy old man who just wants more treats and pets 😅

For the most part, Oliver has been a very easy puppy. He’s the sweetest boy, picked up potty training very quickly, and stays out of trouble most of the time 😇

Apparently this week he realized he has less than a month left in his puppy era and needed to fit in at least one dramatic puppy incident before turning one 🙄

That meant giving himself a soap burn on his eye and earning himself a weekend field trip to the vet…with a follow-up field trip already booked for next weekend 😭

Please send all the quick healing vibes 🤍 I have a feeling we’re about to spend a lot of time this week wrestling over the eye drops 😅🤭
