I don't turn my back on anyone anymore. I have so many arrows stuck in my spine, from the ones I love, and the ones I shouldn't have, that I face everyone equally. I look everyone square in the eyes. That way, I can see the truth through the lies. And the lies that are truths to you. Look at us all...in love one minute, then burning with a vengeance the next. Planning a future, then letting it dissolve into nonexistence in an instant. I don't want people who turn like that anymore. I'm older, slightly more mature, and if I cared about you at some point, chances are, I will always care about you. If I loved you deeply, and you're no longer with me, I will learn to love the memory. I will learn to love you in different ways, for different reasons.

We are too quick to flip the switch on one another, thus leaving a part of ourselves in the dark. Wear those arrows, and know that it's the ones who put them there who hurt much more than you. Keep looking them in the eyes, smile wide, and leave the lights on - so the world can see the shooters.
