m.o.heart When racing incidents occur, riders might not agree or see each others point of view. In this case we both agree this falls under the category of a racing incident. There were many factors involved, seen and unseen in this edit. Multiple riders going down in front of , real estate being taken up by a lot of racers making split second decisions due to the tight and rapidly changing market in the corner that day.
All riders ahead walked away. Worse injury as far as I know, was a broken collarbone from a rider who went down ahead of us. Walking away from the race track at the end of the day is a good day. Racing is a tough sport.

Pulling into the 1:19s finally, despite rolling off track a bit. One of my racing family members told me to make sure you use all the race track, thanks Pat Mooney. Also said he could do 1:19s on a vintage bike, way more vintage than mine is now so, had to get there. Now that I’m there I actually like I was going slower than my previous best in the 1:23s on this bike. The biggest difference is the ReV3 Throttle Kit which allows me to get to full throttle a lot quicker. Don’t under estimate the “litttle” mods.

If you missed out the progress last race of the season turned out to be significant in the big picture. Race bike coming together along with race craft and technique. Thankful to be there this season, looking forward to what comes next.

Went from 1:44s last year down to the 1:38s this year at Barber Motorsports Park for the WERA GNF. Passing my goal of 1:39s, looking forward to what comes next. Just as I felt this race build was complete losing 6 seconds after installing a REV 3 throttle Kit. I was reminded by another racer one more significant improvement I could still make to this 04 GSXR 600. A slipper clutch will be coming soon, the first part I felt I would need once I started doing track days. Quickly realizing this bikes desire to chatter upon downshifting under hard breaking preparing for corner entry but, I decided to just build the bike and learn to ride around it. Got used to managing it the best I could and as the bike improved, I became smoother, it became less of an issue and I continued to drop my lap times. Only to discover now, the bike is fast enough for it to again hinder further progress at a faster pace, even if properly set up and applying a smoother technique. The irony, how a journey can come full circle. Thankful for the opportunity to share, learn, grow, race, listen, understand and repeat. Ready to ride again.

Less than 3/10ths of a second between 1st and 3rd. Closing the gap for this 3rd place finish, making progress for 2025. Looking back at the lap times of my last race. Thankful for the opportunity to learn.
