👀🦉 Whoo's watching 🦉👀

First, we had a bald eagle in our backyard, and now we have a beautiful OWL! 🦉🤎 I officially named him Martin, and he’s a Northern Screech Owl! How awesome is it to look out my bedroom window and see such a beautiful creature right there in our own backyard? Nature is absolutely incredible!

I’ve even let my girls out to roam the backyard (the chickens, lol 🐔😂), and thankfully, Martin hasn’t been an issue!

So, let me get this straight… we’ve got chickens, bald eagles, AND owls?! 🦅🦉🐓

At this point, we might as well put up a sign that says Welcome to Our Own Little Nature Reserve!🌳 They found the right backyard!❤️

🚜 Go pops go!! 🚜
It's a BEAUTIFUL day to get the field all nice and plowed under! We've got the mobar plow on the Ford Tractor today! We're getting the field ready for winter!

🌾 Benefits of plowing farmland:

1. Turns and loosens the soil

Plowing breaks up compacted ground, loosens the soil, and can make it easier for roots to grow when spring planting season arrives.

2. Incorporates leftover crop residue

Old plant material gets mixed into the soil, where it can decompose and return organic matter and nutrients to the ground.

3. Helps manage w**ds

Turning the soil can bury existing w**ds and some w**d seeds, reducing certain w**d problems the following growing season.

4. Takes advantage of winter weather

In climates like central Illinois, freezing and thawing can help break down large soil clods!

5. Prepares for the next growing season

Depending on the soil and crops planned, fall plowing can make spring field preparation easier and help get the farm ready for planting.

While the rest of the world is winding down for the evening, farmers are still out in the fields, harvesting, working, and doing what needs to be done. From the early mornings to the late nights, farming takes dedication, sacrifice, and a kind of hard work that never truly stops.

Tonight’s sky is a beautiful reminder of the reward that comes with those long days. Watching the sun set over the fields while the harvest continues.

So here’s a big THANK YOU to our farmers. Thank you for the long hours, the early mornings, the late nights, and for working through the heat, the dust, the exhaustion, and whatever Mother Nature throws your way. Your hard work feeds our families, supports our communities, and keeps agriculture moving forward. 🌽🌾

The next time you sit down for a meal, remember the hands that helped put that food on your table.🤎🌾

🍂 🌾HAPPY FRIDAY! 🌾🍂

Take a moment to slow down, soak up this beautiful weather, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the little things that make life so good.

Life gets busy, and sometimes we get so caught up in our daily routines that we forget to stop and appreciate the moment we're in. So get outside, feel that sunshine, spend a little extra time doing something you love, and let yourself enjoy the beauty around you.

And most importantly, take care of YOU! Your happiness, your peace, and your well being matter. You don't have to have everything figured out, and you don't have to do it all today. Sometimes, taking a breath and enjoying the day is enough.🧡

Make the most of this beautiful weather, protect your peace, and remember to give yourself the same love and care you give everyone else!

Happy Friday, friends! 🌾🤎

This picture was takin headed to work early Tuesday morning, and I just had to stop and appreciate how beautiful the sky was. The fog was lifting as the sun was coming up, and it made everything look so peaceful. 🌅

🎃👻 October 1st… officially the BEST time of year! 👻🎃 SPOOKY SEASON!

I’ve always had a special place in my heart for Halloween. There’s just something about this time of year that takes me right back to being a kid, that feeling of excitement and anticipation that you can’t quite explain, you just feel it. 🧡

For me, Halloween has never been just about costumes or candy. It’s the sounds, the smells, the colors, the crisp air, the decorations, the pumpkins, the spooky little details, watching scary movies … all of it brings back so many nostalgic feelings and memories. It’s one of those times of year that just makes my heart happy. 🥹🎃

And clearly, my love for Halloween has gotten a little out of hand because my house pretty much looks like the Haunted Mansion 365 days a year.👻🏚️

It's so comforting about surrounding yourself with the things that make you feel good, and Halloween has always been one of those things for me. It feels familiar. It feels magical. It feels like home. 🖤

So, to celebrate the very first day of my favorite season, here’s a little spooky photoshoot we did right here on the farm. 🎃👻

A little fall. A little spooky. A little nostalgia.

Happy October 1st, friends! 🎃
Happy spooky season! 👻
And yes… Happy early Halloween! 🕷️🖤

Let the magic begin. ✨🎃👻

🦅✨ Talk about a MAJESTIC backyard visitor! ✨🦅

How incredibly cool it was to look out and see a Bald Eagle in my backyard! 🇺🇸Such a beautiful, powerful, and majestic bird. Definitely not something you get to see every day!

My chickens, however, were NOT impressed. 😂🐔 They were on high alert watching that eagle, so there was absolutely NO evening free-range grass picking for them last night!

They were like, “Ummm…we’ll just stay inside, thank you very much!”

Nature is pretty amazing when you get to witness moments like this right in your own backyard. 🦅🌾❤️

🩵 Monday Affirmation 🩵

What a privilege it is to be tired from the work you once begged for.

What a privilege to feel overwhelmed by growth you once dreamed about.

What a privilege to be challenged by a life you intentionally created.

What a privilege to outgrow the things you once settled for.

This Monday, remember: you are living pieces of the life you once hoped for. Even when it feels overwhelming, be grateful for the growth, the lessons, the opportunities, and the life you’re building.

Keep going. Keep growing. Keep choosing yourself.
You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.🩵
