When a larger piece finds its new home, I get to do my favorite thing; bring in another beautiful find and curate a whole new display! 🐦‍⬛

Pairing pieces, mixing textures, and finding just the right details to make it all feel at home… that’s the fun part for me. And somehow, moving one thing turns into rearranging a few more! This particular piece was a quick move-in last Friday just in time for the weekend crowd. It also gave me a chance to add a few of my favorite Thanksgiving pieces.

There’s always something changing at Birdy Lou Boutique. Thank you for taking a piece of Birdy home and giving me a reason to create again! 🖤

🐦‍⬛ One year of Birdy Lou Boutique! 🤍

A year ago, I started my little boutique at Painted Tree, excited to see where this dream would take me. When Painted Tree filed bankruptcy and closed, I honestly thought my little dream might be over.

But then I landed in the best place, downtown Bloomington at Main Trade. Torey and Zach gave me room to spread my wings, and from that opportunity, Birdy’s House was born. What started as one little booth grew into more than I ever imagined.

Looking at these pictures, from where I started to where I am today, makes me so proud that I kept going. So much growth, so many changes, and so much to be thankful for in just one year.

A special thank you to my family and friends for believing in me, cheering me on, and supporting this dream through all the ups and downs. Having you by my side means more than you know. 🤍

Thank you to everyone who has shopped, shared a post, offered encouragement, or stopped in to say hello. Every bit of support has helped this little dream grow.

We’re partnering with Downtown Bloomington for Fall Fest and bringing Main Trade + some of our vendors to pop up down at the Ring on the newly renovated 500 and 600 blocks of downtown!

And while you’re out enjoying the festivities, make sure to grab a coupon at the fest to bring up to our shop on the Square (105 W Jefferson)! We’ll be staying open until 8pm so you can keep the fun going and do a little shopping with us, too.💙

🐦‍⬛ Well, what do you do when your mailbox sells? 📬

You improvise, of course! 🤭

Apparently, even the mailbox at Birdy’s House wasn’t safe from finding a new home!

So, while I hunt for the perfect little replacement, a charming framed picture is filling in. Not quite the same, but it certainly adds a little character!

That’s the funny thing about Birdy’s House… even the things I think are part of the decor have a way of flying the nest!

The hunt for a new mailbox is officially on! 🏃🏼‍♀️‍➡️

Birdy’s House and Birdy Lou Boutique have a sweet new addition thanks to a collaboration with local artist, Art by Basha. Her artwork has been tucked right into our vignettes; nestled among the colored glass, vintage finds, handmade pumpkins and all those one-of-a-kind treasures we love.

And somehow, these little pieces of art were exactly what Birdy needed. 🖼️ They add another layer of color, personality and whimsy and make the spaces feel even more collected and special.

I absolutely love being able to showcase the work of a local artist alongside pieces from eras past. New art + old treasures…turns out they’re a pretty perfect pair. 🐦‍⬛

Did you know that Wednesdays are for fresh looks, newly sourced pieces, and a little Birdy magic? 🐦‍⬛✨😉

After our getaway to the California coast, I’m back and having so much fun fluffing, styling, and adding some of the new finds my coastal hunting provided for Birdy Lou Boutique & Birdy’s House.

But first… meet Charlotte! 🤎 Our beautiful old dress form has officially been named and is dressed in fresh vintage accessories and looking like she’s always belonged here.

The window box has a cozy new fall look too, filled with hand-knitted chunky pumpkins, soft textures, and all those warm autumn details I love. And of course, I couldn’t resist adding more colored glass—jewel tones, amber, green, blue and all those gorgeous little pops of color from eras past.

There are lots of new details throughout the shop…and a few more California-sourced treasures still to come. 👀

Tucked in among the old treasures you’ll find cozy candles, stovetop simmer blends, and Geometry kitchen towels—the kind of things that make your home smell wonderful, feel festive, and add just a touch of fun to the everyday.

Because sometimes you come in looking for an antique… and leave with a candle, a towel, a simmer blend—and maybe an antique too. 😉🖤
