They say you can have 2 of the 3. Fast, good, or cheap. But sometimes we find a way to have it all.

Our design firm is a bit different than others. We specialize in quick turnaround design with furnishings that fit into realistic budgets, while still being able to handle real life.

Anytime design involves integrating meaningful pieces, especially if it involves art or antiques, it becomes a labor of love for me.

This living room is one of my favorite spaces in the cabin for so many reasons. Maybe because I finally got to use the Swiss cross pillow I’ve been crushing on for a year now. Or maybe because that’s incredible rug was even better in person and so soft under foot. But if I’m honest, it’s most likely because it involves two special features.

This gallery wall of vintage High Hampton prints provided by the Inn and requested by the cabin owners, which we blew up and placed over the antique piano that belonged to their grandmother. A piece we gave a spot front and center in the main room in the house, and was confirmed the right spot as the family treated us to a few tunes during our install.

I love the modern feel, but that it still looks like you could cuddle up with as good book or break out a board game anytime. Kid friendly, but a space mom and dad can enjoy long after the chicks have left the nest.

After months of existing as just a vision in our minds, this primary bedroom finally came to reality and it’s a literal dream. Perfectly peaceful, and an inviting cozy retreat at this mountaintop cabin in Blowing Rock, North Carolina.

This cabin began as a short term rental investment property, then changed to a permanent residence which meant our design made a few pivots along the way. What started as a modern cabin aesthetic, with furnishings intended for frequent guest changes and long term durability, shifted to something a bit softer, more family focused, with a few luxury touches like high end bedding and a color palette that would complement the stunning display of the view just outside the windows.

We know designing the spaces in your home, or furnishing your investment properties or vacation homes isn’t always everyone’s cup of tea. Our goal at is to take that mental load off of your to do list. We provide home design and furnishing services that allow you to walk into a turnkey space ready to enjoy for yourself or rent right away. DM us to discuss how we can help you create your dream space!

I have been quiet on the socials this summer, but VERY busy behind the scenes. And I’ve been keeping a little secret. Actually a big secret. Starting way back in January I partnered with Cindy Ferguson on our first project for Nomadic Home, our full service home furnishing company. Our first project together was originally slated to be a beautiful newly constructed cabin in Blowing Rock, North Carolina intended to be a short term rental. Since then it has changed to become the permanent residence of the owners giving us a fun challenge of shifting our design from short term rental furnishings to long term family friendly pieces that will provide form and function for years to come.

This week the cabin was finally to a point where we could begin our install and I finally have something I can share. We are so excited to show you a sneak peak of the cabin and to officially announce we are open for business!

If you have an investment property you need furnished and decorated quickly and professionally, or if you could use a hand in your own home with creating a curated, well designed space, whether it’s a single room or the entire home, we can help!

Our goal is to make the furnishing process as stress free for you as possible, so you can choose to be as involved as you want to be. Our services range from quick turnaround installs led entirely by our design team, to more in depth design services where we will work with you hand-in-hand to create your dream space.

Stay tuned as we finish up at the cabin and post the final reveals (and don’t miss some of the befores and videos in my stories!). And be sure to follow to see our next project, it’s going to be a BIG one in the heart of Asheville, North Carolina!

Scenes around Maastricht. While I don’t think this little city makes it onto many must visit lists for tourists visiting from other countries, it seemed to be a happening hub for more local tourists. I loved that the city itself was a manageable size, small enough to walk through the major areas in a day or two’s time, but big enough to offer all the shopping and eating you could handle. I was shocked at how many of the restaurants were Michelin rated!

I devoted a few days to seeking out the sites like the church and the bookstore, and later the oldest pedestrian bridge which I’ll post coming up, and then other days to shopping. I can’t remember the last time I went shopping in actual stores. It was refreshing! I visited the weekly market. Perused the local pharmacy to scope out any special items not sold in the states. And picked out the restaurants for our dinners when hubs finally got off work each day.

Pictured are the solar sun shuttle (the city’s public transportation - so cute!), various outdoor cafés, the original city wall, Dutch wooden shoes at the market, and fresh tulips at the market (church back to see the real deal when we visited the tulip fields in the Netherlands!).

Follow the dwarves to the Brasserie D’Achouffe! One of Belgium’s great breweries where you can enjoy one of a kind Belgian beers and delicious home cooked food by a cracking fire as you warm your toes.

We were thrilled to walk into the cozy tavern at the brewery with bellies growling to find a fire going in the center and a menu filled with slow cooked meats and meatballs glazed in beer sweetened sauces, all served with the La Chouffe signature Belgian beers of course. Hubs tried the MC chouffe, a dark Belgian, and I tried the N’Ice Chouffe, their winter Belgian. Both were delicious but you could definitely tell mine was higher alcohol content due to the sweet taste.

Its hard to find these beers in the US at all, and correct me if I’m with but I don’t think you can find the dark ones at all. So we were thankful for the opportunity to get to try them right where they are made. Those one of a kind experiences are what travel is all about for us. Except when you find something you love and can’t get it back home 😅.

If there is one guarantee in travel, it’s that there will be stress and there will be things that don’t go according to plan. We were supposed to be in Belgium Saturday morning at 9:00am, but the storms in Chicago had other plans. We only had two days in Belgium before we were going to have to move on to our next location for my husband’s work week, and by the time we finally got there we only had a few hours in country. It would be easy to get sucked into the mourning for the things we missed, but the best way to find joy is in gratitude. So…

I’m grateful our flights were delayed because it meant we were kept out of the storms and safe. I’m grateful we had the means to get a hotel and some rest when we got stuck. I’m grateful for the few hours we did manage to squeeze in in Belgium and that we still managed to check off two of the items on our list. I’m grateful this little town we’re in for the week is so much cuter than we were expecting (and this view from our room is spectacular over the main square). And I’m grateful for the time with my husband. I could be sitting on a potato cart on our way to nowhere next to him and be happy.

Speaking of, he’s working most of the week this week so I’m doing a lot of solo exploring. Follow along to see what I find!
