Beginner Needle Felting Workshop

With Heidi Jai

Date: Saturday, October 17th

Time: 11:00am - 2:00pm

Cost: $55 per person, includes all materials

Class Size: Max 8 students

Wish you knew how to make adorable wool sculptures? Needle felting is a creative outlet that requires no sewing, no counting and no measuring. In just a couple hours, you’ll have the skills to make woolly treasures from your imagination!

Please bring ideas for an ornament-sized project you would like to make. There will also be many inspirational projects from which to choose.

This 3-hour beginner felt-along class includes all tools and a generous supply of colorful wool. You only need to bring your sense of humor!

Make A Witch Hat!

Class Size: Maximum 5 students

Minimum age 10, students under 16 should be accompanied by a parent, please!

Celebrate the season by making a classic decoration you can wear for years- a Quilted Witch Hat. The perfect way to express your individual witchy personality.

You will need 2 yards of material for an adult hat. You can get creative with material found at Ebb and Flow, but the fall/ Halloween fabric selection is small at the moment. Mardens has some super cute retro Halloween/fall prints priced from $4.99 to $6.99 per yard. One yard for the outside and also a yard for the lining. It can be the traditional black and orange, or mix it up. Patchwork is another fun option if you have the time. Do not prewash your fabric. Adult and kid size hat patterns available.

I’ve done my witch hat research and picked a pattern and techniques that eliminate “hat flop”. I don’t want a floppy hat to steal my magic.

I’ll have two types of interfacing and you’ll get to try a “hemostat”. I love when my sewing skills get an upgrade while I make something I love.

Make a linen bias-cut skirt with Alyssa of Tangle Syx

Saturday, October 10th, 12 to 4pm, right here at Ebb & Flow.

A beginner-friendly project for learning to sew on the bias. You’ll make a fall-color linen skirt with a drawstring waist. Bring your sewing machine, leave with a finished skirt.

Everything is provided: linen, thread, and the pattern (a $50 value).

$80 per person (intro price, first time this class is being taught)

Only 4 spots. Comes in multiple sizes, hips 32” to 48” (roughly US sizes 0-20, XS-2X), you’ll choose your size based on your own measurement. Beginners welcome, as long as you can thread your machine and sew basic stitches.

This month: Men’s Short Sleeved Shirt Sewing Class with Matt Stahl

This class will be taught over 4 meetings, 3 hours per meeting.

This class offers advanced-beginner and intermediate sewists an opportunity to gain experience assembling a garment while developing specific skills like making a tidy pointed collar, attaching sleeves, and felling seams.

The class is not recommended for stone-cold beginners. It is for people who are comfortable with their machine, capable of sewing straight and curved seams, and so on.

Pattern will be provided.

Homework: Plan on some cutting and sewing between classes.

Dates: Saturdays in August- the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th

Time: 12:00-3:00

Cost: $120 for the whole course!
