Antique Shoppers: Do you have misbehaved children? Or perhaps a spouse who can’t seem to hang the toilet paper roll the “right” way? We have a scythe. Just sayin’…

Here’s something for customers in the Fiber Arts — we have some bolts of cloth available for considerably less than you’d be likely to pay at a fabric store. Specifically, we have two bolts of upholstery-weight cloth — one a sort of red velvet, and the other with a green foliage pattern — and one that’s a smooth, lightweight cotton with an applied texture that we think is intended to make it ideal for a home theatre screen. Check ‘em out and see for yourself!

Hey Folks — We are excited to announce a new concept in our booth: offsite furniture. We have a book on a stand at the entrance to the booth, and if you see something you like, just take that page out of the book and bring it to the front desk. 3 Sisters’ helpful and friendly staff will give us a call and we’ll bring that piece over for you to examine pronto! This allows our valued customers access to some of our larger furniture pieces that otherwise would have to wait to be shown until floor space in the booth opened up. Happy hunting!

Happy holidays, everyone! For the first time in our history, we are offering a 25%-off discount on everything we sell (except those few items marked “Firm” or “ND”). Call it a pre-post-holiday sale. This sale will run through the end of this month, so now’s the time to sn**ch up anything that catches your eye!

Yarn Nation: We’ve added some holiday supplies for your projects, including a big bag of assorted poms and some larger bolt remnants. The cloth pieces are large enough to be used as table cloths, but we also have smaller pieces that could be used as creative wrapping for small presents. You’ll also find a supply of ornaments, garlands, and other holiday cheer spread throughout our booths, cases, and walls. Regardless, we hope you enjoy your holidays!

Here’s something antique that’s also utilitarian — it’s an old Coca-Cola bottle return rack! for those who have only known aluminum cans, this may come as a surprise, but soft drinks used to be sold in big, clunky, glass bottles! Yes, that’s right, and we liked it… just like we liked walking to school uphill both ways in a blinding snowstorm every day. (Well OK, no, that’s not true.) Anyway, these racks were placed next to vending machines, or sometimes at the front of stores, and when you finished drinking the contents you’d just ditch the bottle in these racks. In states that charged a deposit, you’d even get coins back for every bottle you returned. Whether you have your own cola bottle collection or have some other idea this inspires, consider giving this friendly antique a new home.

This pram (aka “perambulator”, or baby carriage) was made by the Storkline Company of Chicago on April 8, 1953. Yes, that’s an oddly specific date, but it’s stamped in a hidden location right on the pram, and we’re just reporting it to you. This particular model was rolled out (pun intended) to celebrate the upcoming coronation of Queen Elizabeth II two months later, which is why it features the royal arms on the side.

We can find virtually no defects or age-related deterioration in this piece. It’s as though time has stopped still to provide us a glimpse of this mid-century luxury American product from an age of widespread optimism for the future of the nation and the world. We know it will do well at cradling you’re special bundle(s) of optimism whenever you take them out for a stroll.

It seems like once every Christmas season someone comes into Three Sisters looking for a vinyl record player. Well, here you go — this is a vintage 1960s portable record player that still works, and we’ve even plugged it up so you can try it out yourself! This is in our booth on the lower level, halfway down the first aisle.

Here’s something special we wanted to call out ahead of the gift-giving season: It’s an interchangeable jewelry ensemble from Premier Design. As you can see, the theme is butterflies, and the idea is that one necklace loop allows you to create several different pendants (with or without additonal earrings making it a set), depending on your clothes and mood. You’ll find this at the front counter, just to the left of the cash register.

Yarn Nation — our valued customers in the Fiber Arts may find this interesting: We’ve recently come into a cache of buttons, many of which are mother-of-pearl, abalone, or have a nacreous luster. All are sorted into small packets, most of which are priced well under a dollar. We’ll be adding to this over time, but here’s an example of our first offering.
