What an incredible evening with World Golf Hall of Fame member and 3-time Major Champion Larry Nelson at Berkeley Country Club. ⛳

Larry shared his remarkable journey from serving in the U.S. Army in Vietnam to discovering golf at age 21 and turning professional just three years later. Speaking to a packed room, he reflected on perseverance, purpose, faith, and the experiences that shaped both his life and career.

One of the most powerful moments of the evening centered on Larry’s faith story. After seeing the transformation in his wife Gayle’s life, Larry committed his life to Christ in 1975 while reading the Bible alone in a motel room, a decision he has often said became far more important than any championship he ever won.

CBMC has been connecting business and professional men since 1931, and today includes 566 teams in 388 cities nationwide with nearly 20,000 men engaged. Locally, CBMC SC Lowcountry continues to grow through its all-volunteer TAF, YP, and C3 teams.

CBMC SC Lowcountry hosted the 5th Annual Burger Bash on Thursday, November 13th, from 5–8 PM at Rose Hill Plantation. Local men and their spouses came together for a relaxed evening of food, fellowship, and meaningful connection. It also proved to be a great opportunity to invite friends to learn more about Christian Business Men’s Connection in the Lowcountry. The highlight of the night was the presentation of the annual Ambassador Award to Coach Ted Falkner.

Recently, over 60 men and spouses gathered to celebrate what God is doing in the Lowcountry through CBMC (Christian Business Men’s Connection). CBMC SC Lowcountry was established 5 years ago in coastal South Carolina. The local men’s ministry has grown to 10 teams with over 100 men meeting regularly for prayer, fellowship and mission. CBMC was established in 1931 with now 680 teams of men meeting around the world.

This year’s Burger Bash was held on a beautiful South Carolina evening with a spectacular sunset over the Colleton River. The evening was dedicated to Young Professionals (men under 40) celebrating the first year of the Billy Gray Young Professionals Team. Billy’s legacy lives on through his dream of starting a CBMC SC Lowcountry Young Professionals Team at work. CBMC SC Lowcountry is an all-volunteer 5 Star Region with active C3, TAF and YP teams, Discipleship and Outreach Events.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Ambassador for Christ Award to Brad Tholen, who has selflessly served God in ministry and community,.

This year’s Burger Bash was dedicated to Billy Gray, who was tragically called home last May. Billy’s legacy lives on through his dream of starting a CBMC SC Lowcountry Young Professionals Team at work. The Billy Gray YP Team helped our region to become the first CBMC all-volunteer region to achieve 5 Star status. CBMC defines 5 Star as a region with active C3, TAF and YP teams that also does discipleship and holds outreach events.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Ambassador for Christ Award to Ed Grecco, who has selflessly served God in ministry and community.

In early November, we gathered to celebrate what God is doing in the Lowcountry through CBMC (Christian Business Men’s Connection). CBMC is a global men’s ministry, founded during the Great Depression, that equips business and professional men to lead well, impact their communities and engage in The Great Commission. Today there are 6 groups of men meeting regularly in the Lowcountry.
