The mockup / proof of concept bio dome continues to evolve and become increasingly popular. At Xanadu and paired with Constellation coffee, it becomes more amazing each month. Still entirely community built and driven.

Wondering where things sit with the big project?

Quick update is that we are moving to the full developed business plan and thorough outline. And need an exhibit A and lease draft to propose. Always can use help! Plan to hold meetings to go over things in January and monthly.

The orchids are showing off. Beautiful winter escape.

Just in case the Gardens of Xanadu proposal for the "big" project versus the small version we have actually built as a mock up are confusing --

The main project depicted on the website and the architectural renderings are just that, renderings. We are proposing and hoping to build those and working to that end. The land on which they would sit would be a lease agreement with the county.

The small bio dome project at 5015 W Bond St 83706 is a privately funded mock up that the community has built to showcase plants and art, and is about 1600 square feet and on 1/8th an acre next to the community center. The big project, for reference, would be on 10 acres and each of the three main domes would be 10,500 square feet.

So, one is a tiny replica of what we hope to create and one is architectural renderings of the proposal, at two different locations.

Hope that helps kinda explain why there are real videos and build progress. That's the community built and volunteer mock up version.

Fingers crossed we can make the big one a reality!

What a weekend! We had a quite a lot of people at Xanadu and touring the bio dome project to see the progress and all the tropical plants.

Our plant sales have been going well and it has been chatting with people and helping them pick out what works for them. While we have nowhere near the selection of the nurseries or the box stores, we have some unique and fun stuff. Mostly Portulaca, Ice Plants, and Coleus. We have some more unique fuschias and a myriad of other things.

One thing we keep getting asked over and over...and over again, is "is there any progress on the Gardens of Xanadu project proposed and offered to the county for the fairgrounds space.

As always, it's very tough to get any communication back. They were talking about it in April and so we are going to keep on target with them.

The absolute best thing people can do is to write the commissioners asking "are you analyzing the feasibility and working on how to make Gardens of Xanadu a space for the community? Where are the discussions about this community project we all want?"

Write them. That's the biggest support toward this project right now. The more people voice their desire to see this work, the better we can move it forward.
