My curiosity for "old" stuff fascinates me on a daily basis.....

"Who made this?"
"How old is it?"
"Where did it originate?"

My mind travels to piece together what I think the story of the piece of furniture or fabric is.

This morning I put together a little stool that I acquired from??? On the board for the cushion were several names....

My take on this was that it was someone's wood shop project from school? One of the names had the year '54 after it...

I upholstered the top in an antique mola. All hand sewn it was perfectly full of imperfections.

Upholstery isn't just making something pretty, it's preserving the past for the future.

EXCITING news 😁

As my business evolves, I want to be the most efficient I can be to complete my custom work.

I love the building that I am in....but do I really need all of this space and upkeep?!?

Material Green is moving!!!

This was not a quick decision to make, but I feel the right one for me going forward.

No worries if you see the building available....as I am not closing or going far! I will still be on the island that I ❤️!!!!!

This will take some time, it will be a few months before I am in my new location and will remain here working until I make a smooth transition.

I will still have a lot of fabrics and a little bit of retail, but primarily focus on custom work.

AND I get to put my stamp on another island building😍

Renovating buildings AND furniture.....perhaps a new business plan?!?

Third time's a charm, right?!?😉

About 29 years ago I met this guy while walking my dog in St James City.....in the same neighborhood we still live in.....

On this day 25 years ago, we got married.... at a historic inn on the north end of Pine Island on Charlotte harbor.

It was the perfect mix of casual and nice, no sports jackets or pantyhose.....I wanted sandals and Hawaiian shirts, flowers from the grounds of the inn....two old guys played classic music on a big bass and keyboard....finger food and a cake from Publix.

It was simple and perfect. My only complaint.... it was over too fast....the sun set over the Bokeelia pier and guests went home. Seemed like a blink.

A small party travelled to the south end to Froggy's bar where we danced and drank until late in the night. Seems such a short time ago!

Here's to another 25 years Mr Williams!!!❤️❤️💕🥳
